The Lions are adding talent at the wide receiver position just ahead of the 2023 NFL trade deadline, coming to terms on a deal with the Browns for Donovan Peoples-Jones, the teams announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Lions and Browns both announced the move less than an hour before the 4 p.m. ET deadline, revealing that Cleveland will receive a sixth-round pick in exchange for the fourth-year pro.
Peoples-Jones, a sixth-round pick by Cleveland in the 2020 NFL draft, has caught just eight passes for 97 yards this season while seeing limited action.

The 49ers are seemingly never content on the defensive front. On Tuesday, general manager John Lynch went back to the well once more.
Less than two hours until the 4 p.m. ET NFL trade deadline, the 49ers sent a conditional third-round pick to the Commanders for edge rusher Chase Young. Young will now pair with Nick Bosa, while the Niners bring pressure inside with Arik Armstead and Javon Hargrave.
This season, San Francisco ranks ninth in pressure rate (25.0%) and is tied for 18th with 18 sacks. Of those sacks, Bosa and Hargrave are tied for the team lead with three apiece.
The 6-2 Lions are adding another offensive weapon.

I hadn’t intended to write this blog. We had planned to do a group draft of Halloween candy and then I’d dive into grading everyone’s classes. It was going to be light, fun, and a small enjoyable morsel for you to enjoy on this holiday.
Three picks in everything was fine, and then all hell broke loose. The traditional, beloved Reece’s Cup was taken with the No. 1 overall pick, and then our own Jeanna Kelley selected “Reece’s Pumpkins” with the No. 4 pick.
Dating back to last season’s trade deadline, when the Raptors stood pat (aside from adding center Jakob Poeltl), there have been huge questions looming for the Toronto franchise.

Washington selected Young with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft out of Ohio State, and the defensive end had a strong rookie season with 7 1/2 sacks on his way to being named Defensive Rookie of the Year. However, Young suffered a torn ACL nine games into the 2021 season, stunting his growth with the team.
The Minnesota Vikings traded for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Dobbs ahead of Tuesday’s NFL Trade Deadline. Dobbs likely becomes the team’s starter following Kirk Cousins’ season-ending injury.
As expected, the Vikings didn’t have many great options. Jameis Winston would have been perfect, but New Orleans had no reason to trade him.
That’s how most teams felt. People suggested every backup QB in the league as a potential replacement for Cousins. But most NFL teams don’t want to trade their backup quarterback.
