Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin never misses an opportunity to stir the pot when speaking to the media.
Kiffin is known for his epic one-liners that often generate buzz across the college football landscape, especially when facing Alabama. He previously served as the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator from 2014 to ‘16 under Nick Saban after he was fired as USC’s football coach in ‘13.

The Cincinnati Bengals need help at quarterback, and it appears they’ve called on former Alabama star and ex-Bengal A.J. McCarron.
Joe Burrow has not been officially ruled out for Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. But with the (very expensive) QB1 nursing a nagging calf injury, Jake Browning is currently the only healthy quarterback on the roster.
The Bengals signed McCarron to the practice squad Saturday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. If Burrow can’t go — his current designation is questionable — then Cincy will elevate McCarron to the 53-man prior to kickoff.
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin has been a bit of a reporter this week.
Early in the week, he said he thought Alabama coach Nick Saban may have taken play calling duties away from defensive coordinator Kevin Steele because of how it looked to Kiffin on film. Saban said that wasn’t the case. He only switched the way plays were signaled into players for speed.
“We’re excited for this opportunity today and you never know how many more you’ve got. Maybe this is our last time,” Lane Kiffin said about playing Nick Saban just now on the SEC Network.
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones found himself in a familiar setting during the team’s 30–12 loss to the 49ers on Thursday.
With a short-handed offensive line due to the absences of left tackle Andrew Thomas and left guard Ben Bredson, Jones struggled to establish consistency on offense and was flushed out of the pocket on multiple occasions while seeking to make plays.
In the final seconds of the first half with San Francisco holding a 17–3 advantage, the 49ers’ defense displayed a scheme that left the veteran quarterback seemingly puzzled at the line of scrimmage.
Utah quarterback Cam Rising will not start against No. 22 UCLA as he continues his recovery from an ACL tear he sustained in the Rose Bowl, sources told ESPN.
The Colts are releasing running back Deon Jackson and signing Trey Sermon to the active roster off their practice squad, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports.
Jackson started for Indianapolis in Week 1, rushing for 14 yards on 13 attempts vs. the Jaguars, but he did not get a carry last week against the Texans. The veteran had been with the team since 2021 and played in 16 games last year, totaling 236 yards and one touchdown.
Just weeks after Colorado players complained about Nebraska “making it personal” after they stood on their logo, they’ve decided to do the exact same thing to Oregon.
Apparently, all is now fair game in the “logo-stomping” world. What a turn of events!
Video of several Buffs players walking around Autzen Stadium — including one stomping on the O logo on midfield — has made the rounds today, and it has the internet FIRED up.
Amid accusations of sexual harassment, Mel Tucker has vehemently denied wrongdoing. But according to a recent report from USA TODAY, the embattled football coach has not been entirely truthful during the investigation.
Michigan State recently announced it would fire Tucker for cause over allegations of sexual assault from Brenda Tracy, an activist who speaks to schools about sexual violence. According to a report she filed with the MSU Title IX office in December, “Tucker made sexual comments about her and masturbated” while the pair were on a phone call together.

For now, it seems like Portland wants to trade Damian Lillard anywhere but his preferred destination.
Damian Lillard requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers on July 1, just one day after the opening of NBA free agency and less than two weeks after the 2023 NBA Draft. Lillard immediately made it known he wanted to be dealt to the Miami Heat. Nearly three months later, the superstar guard remains in Portland and appears no closer to getting his wish.
Here’s how to watch the Ohio State vs. Notre Dame game today, plus the rest of the Week 4 college football schedule.
