Ja Morant’s season suffered an unexpected turn. Morant will miss the remainder of the year after suffering a torn labrum injury, according to a Memphis Grizzlies statement released late Monday.
Morant suffered the injury on his right shoulder during practice Saturday. He appeared courtside for Memphis’ game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday with his right arm in a sling.

Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant is set to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder, the team announced on Monday evening.
Morant, who missed the first 25 games of the campaign due to a suspension, returned to action and made his season debut on Dec. 19.
He featured in nine games since his return, but was unavailable for Sunday’s tilt against the Phoenix Suns. The Grizzlies listed Morant as questionable with shoulder soreness, though he did not suit up for the game.

Ja Morant is out for the season after suffering a torn labrum in his right shoulder, the Memphis Grizzlies announced. Morant suffered the injury on Saturday at practice following the Grizzlies’ win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night.
Morant suffered a subluxation of his right shoulder during a training session on Saturday. He continued to have soreness until the MRI revealed a torn labrum.
Morant was suspended for the first 25 games of this season.
NFL coach John Harbaugh surprised little brother Jim Harbaugh at NRG Stadium on Monday, sneaking up on Jim on the Wolverines’ sideline during Michigan’s College Football Playoff national championship game against the Washington Huskies.
The Michigan coach appeared genuinely startled at the sight of his older brother. John Harbaugh used stealth to creep up on Jim after an unforeseen delay kept the brothers from meeting before the game.

Nothing gets past Michael Penix Jr.
The Washington quarterback helped his team get right back in the College Football Playoff national championship game at the end of the first half, as he fired a touchdown pass to wide receiver Jalen McMillan, which cut the Michigan lead to 17—10 at the time.
Not only did Penix redeem himself for overthrowing a potential walk-in touchdown earlier in the contest, but he also did something very impressive right before throwing the touchdown pass.
Just nine games in, Ja Morant’s season is over.
