You’d think that the National Hockey League would’ve learned it’s less the first two times Atlanta-based franchises failed to gain any long-term traction.
That does not seem to be the case.
However, NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly says that the league might be able to overcome some of the issues they’ve encountered in past forays into the city.
“I think some of the challenges that we’ve seen in the past in Atlanta can be overcome,” Daly said in an interview with ESPN.

Ahead of their home date with the Dolphins on Sunday Night Football this week, the Patriots have signed an accomplished former college quarterback.
New England is adding former Notre Dame signal-caller Ian Book to its practice squad, according to a Wednesday morning report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Book, 25, was picked by the Saints in the fourth round of the 2021 draft.

The Harrisburg Senators have a skunk problem. 
Back in May, a game at the Nationals Double A affiliate’s home park was briefly delayed when a skunk made its way onto the field. Incredibly, the same thing happened again on Tuesday night. Even more incredibly, the Senators were playing the same team they were during initial skunk incident, the Bowie Baysox. 
In the sixth inning, the skunk appeared on the field just behind first base and began ambling across the field, with players making sure to keep a safe distance.

The best QB in the city of Cleveland might not be a member of the Browns.
The Browns currently carry two QBs on the active roster – starter Deshaun Watson and backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson – and while both are talented, the team might want to start scouting tailgates.
Now, I’m sure you’re thinking, “How could anyone at a tailgate have a better arm than an NFL QB?” I don’t blame you.

When Travis Kelce admitted roughly two months ago that he had attempted to give Taylor Swift his number, it was met with a mixture of responses, but many gave him a tip of the cap for the effort.
The Chiefs tight end admitted on his New Heights podcast that he unfortunately didn’t get to meet Swift at her Arrowhead Stadium concert, as he was trying to give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets and I had received a bunch of them, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift with my number on it,” said Kelce.

After the United States flopped at this year’s FIBA World Cup, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo weighed in to back track star Noah Lyles’ criticism of the term “world champions.”
Lyles took plenty of heat after comments he made in August calling out NBA players for their use of “world champions” to describe the winner of the NBA Finals. Several NBA stars, including Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, called out Lyles for the comments.
