1. Here’s what I wrote in May when the NFL decided to put a playoff game on Peacock: “The NFL can do whatever it wants. The NFL is Teflon. If the NFL put a game on at 3 a.m., we’d watch. The NFL has a grip on this country that gives them the power to do whatever it wants without any ramifications.”
While I’m not above taking a victory lap, I’m not reminding you of these words to pat myself on the back or show you what a genius I am.

On the surface, Grayson Murray winning the Sony Open doesn’t exactly sound like an exciting headline, but in reality, his victory in Hawaii on Sunday created a storyline that legitimately spanned the globe after Rory McIlroy’s disaster of a finish in Dubai.
Murray and McIlroy have a history, albeit a brief one, that is impossible to ignore which makes Sunday’s festivities one of the more memorable non-major finishes we’ve seen in quite a while.

The impact of Tiger Woods and the era with Nike Golf goes deep. What brand will he wear since that swoosh will no longer don his clothes?
For 27 years, people could easily identify Tiger Woods — a Nike swoosh on his chest.
It’s the end of an era for the 82-time PGA Tour winner and the iconic brand. It’s been a week since he announced their split, but it’s still hard to imagine Woods wearing anything else.
The only time we’ve seen him since he made it official was for an appearance on the Fore Play Pod, and Woods still wore Nike.
There might be no celebration that’s recognized by NBA fans today more than Damian Lillard’s “Dame Time” wrist tap. But through the first 39 games of the season, his Milwaukee Bucks teammates had yet to see it in person—until they were treated to a moment that essentially defined “Dame Time” on Sunday night.
The Bucks trailed by four late in overtime, but a Brook Lopez three-pointer cut it to a one-point game.
Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander ranks Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott among the top at his position in the NFL, just not in the way one might expect.
The Packers defeated the Cowboys, 48—32, in a wild-card round clash Sunday night in Arlington, Texas, and Alexander, who picked off Prescott in the first quarter to help set up a Green Bay touchdown, left his impact on the game.
After the contest, Alexander spoke about the Cowboys QB, saying that he is now “among my top QBs.
Detroit Lions offensive tackle Taylor Decker had every reason to be emotional on camera during his postgame interview Sunday night. The Lions had just defeated the Los Angeles Rams, 24—23, to win their first playoff game in 32 years. Decker, the longest-tenured Lions player on the roster, couldn’t help but soak it in.
During his interview with NFL Network’s Bridget Condon, Decker started to tear up when talking about quarterback Jared Goff and the team’s success.
“[Goff] is special. Can’t say enough good things about him,” Decker told Condon.

Ten Takeaways: Jordan Love Is ‘Playing at an MVP Level’
The Packers became the first team to beat the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium this season.
Osaka has played just three matches in the last 15 months and wasn’t able to win her first Grand Slam match since becoming a mother.
Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur was hyped up about his team’s dominant 48–32 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round on Sunday, and he couldn’t help but express his gratitude for quarterback Jordan Love.
When leaving AT&T Stadium after the win, LaFleur told Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer that Love was a “F—ing stud.”
LaFleur didn’t stop there when giving Love, a first-year starter, some high praise when talking about him to Breer on Sunday.
“He is playing at such a high level,” LaFleur told Breer. “Like, he is playing at an MVP level.
The Dallas Cowboys are the biggest frauds in the NFL, but they don’t hold a candle to Denny Hamlin in the NASCAR world.
At least that’s what the internet told me all day Sunday, and, frankly, I’m not sure who’s truly the biggest choker. It’s a tough call, and not a fun one to make because we don’t like violence around here.
Just kidding! It’s a wonderful call to have to make because nothing gets the juices flowing more on an otherwise dreary Monday in January than some Cowboys/Denny Hamlin slander. Two peas in a NASCAR-NFL pod.
