Mikal Bridges’ perfect missed free throw sent USA-Canada to OT in the FIBA World Cup, but the Americans still lost.
USA Basketball’s run in the 2023 men’s FIBA World Cup was already a failure after losing to Germany in the semifinals, but the program had a chance to save face a bit in a high-profile third-place game against Canada.
Canada beat the United States, 127-118 in overtime, to complete the American basketball humiliation at the World Cup. The loss meant the U.S. finished fourth in the tournament, and with a 5-3 overall record.

The reigning Heisman winner was back at it Saturday night and gave college football a treat in the form of an incredible pass. 
Caleb Williams and the rest of USC’s offense lit up Stanford on their way to a 56–10 victory and his best pass of the night came under duress. Stanford rushed four with over 10 minutes to go in the second quarter when the Trojans had 28–0 lead, and it appeared Williams had nowhere to go. 
Although he had time, the eight players in coverage posed a problem—or so everyone thought.

Team USA’s FIBA World Cup run came to a heartbreaking end Sunday when the Americans lost to Canada in dramatic fashion. Of course, it didn’t stop the internet from rubbing it in. 
Team USA lost the bronze medal game 127–118 in overtime and will come back stateside empty-handed. Anthony Edwards led the Americans with 24 points but was outshined by Canada’s Dillon Brooks, who scored 39 points on 7-for-8 shooting from three-point range to lead all scorers.

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has no interest in backpedaling on your Buffalo-themed hot takes. Specifically if they come from Nebraska coach Matt Rhule, who opted to take the “all praise” approach with Colorado prior to their 36-14 loss to Coach Prime’s team.
