American golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas have spent a lot of time in England recently — and not just for Wimbledon or in anticipation of the looming British Open. 
Spieth and Thomas are set to invest in Leeds United in England’s Championship, joining an American-based ownership group associated with the 49ers.
“We thought it would be a cool opportunity. It’s a big city, historic club, great venue in Elland Road, and once we looked into it we realized it could be really exciting,” Spieth told Sky Sports in England.

A Memphis judge ruled Wednesday that Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant and his legal team can proceed with their argument that the two-time All-Star acted in self-defense when he punched a teenager during a pickup basketball game at his home in July 2022.
Morant’s lawyers have acknowledged that Morant punched Joshua Holloway, who was 17 at the time, once in the chin after Holloway threw a basketball at Morant, arguing that Morant should not be liable under Tennessee’s “stand your ground” law, per the Associated Press.
