LeBron James isn’t going anywhere. At least not Yet.
The Lakers star, who openly pondered retirement after being swept by the Nuggets in the Western Conference finals in May, let the world know Wednesday night that he will be coming back for his 21st season.
James made the announcement at the 2023 ESPYs while giving his acceptance speech for winning the Best Record-Breaking Performance. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer got emotional about his career, saying:
“I don’t care how many more points I score, or what I can or cannot do on the floor.

The clock is ticking for the four remaining franchise-tagged players to strike multiyear contract commitments from their respective teams before Monday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.
Without new deals, tight end Evan Engram and running backs Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs and Tony Pollard would have to play on one-year franchise tags and wouldn’t be allowed to negotiate contract extensions until after the 2023 season. From this group, only Pollard has signed his franchise-tagged contract, but he’s still allowed to negotiate a long-term contract before Monday’s deadline.

The Bills have a looming problem on their hands.
Over the past few years, general manager Brandon Beane has amassed one of the league’s best rosters. The result has been three consecutive AFC East titles, but also postseason failure each time.
Now, with Buffalo in the position of all-in, the Bills are paying for some of their quieter sins.

Allen and Diggs carry the two largest cap charges for the Bills, who will be $20 million over the cap, even if it rises to $250 million in 2024.

Doug Pederson quickly cleaned up the mess left by Urban Meyer and turned the Jaguars into AFC South champions in 2022.

McIlroy is known for his ability to go long off the tee. Shockingly, amateur Ruben Lindsey showed him how it’s done in Scotland.
Rory McIlroy is universally recognized as one of the best golfers in the world. One of the primary reasons is his ability to hit bombs off the tee, putting him in great position for shorter approach shots.
He put that on display at this year’s U.S. Open at the Los Angeles Country Club.
On Wednesday, a video surfaced of McIlroy engaging in a long drive competition with Scottish amateur Ruben Lindsey.

LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese took home an award at the 2023 ESPYs on Wednesday, beating out Iowa’s Caitlin Clark in the “Best Breakthrough Athlete” category.
During her acceptance speech, Reese delivered a bold promise, guaranteeing that the Tigers were set to win another national championship in 2024.
“I just want to thank LSU … my family, my teammates, my coaches, Kim Mulkey, everybody that helped me. Last year I transferred from the University of Maryland and came to LSU and I just joined a family. So, I just want to say thank you, and another natty is coming.

As OutKick reported last month, ESPN gave the ESPY for courage to the US Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT). The network picked comedienne Tiffany Haddish to present the award during the show.
I won’t rehash the insanity of giving a “courage” award to a group of people who filed a lawsuit. Or passing over a former NFL player who saved two drowning children.
But I do want to point out an accidentally ironic moment during Haddish’s presentation. Of course, she went over-the-top in praising the women and even complained that she doesn’t earn as much money as she deserves.
