Clemson’s offense had a nightmare performance in its season opener against Duke on Monday night.
Myriad turnovers plagued the Tigers, particularly in the red zone, as they failed to convert strong field position into points throughout the night.
During a span of five possessions, Clemson had a field goal attempt blocked, fumbled twice (both of which came within the 10-yard line), turnover the ball over on downs and threw an interception. 
The Tigers failed to put a single point on the scoreboard in the second half, as Duke’s defense came up with big plays throughout the night.

Duke and Clemson opened their seasons with a Monday night matchup at Wallace Wade Stadium, and the Blue Devils pulled off the remarkable, stunning the nation’s No. 9 team with one of college football’s biggest early-season upsets. 
Duke held the Tigers scoreless during the second half in what was a resounding 28–7 victory. The win the first time the program has beaten a top-10 team since toppling No. 7 Clemson in 1989, which came during Steve Spurrier’s last season as Duke’s head coach.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard the terms ‘Clemsoning’, but it returned in magnificent fashion thanks to the Duke football team. After an off-season filled with questions, Clemson fell dramatically short of looking like a team worthy of fighting for an ACC title, losing 28-7 in horrible fashion.
It was Tim Elko’s Duke Blue Devils who decided to keep college football fans on the edge of their couches Monday night, pulling off the impressive upset.

Guardians starting pitcher Lucas Giolito had a disastrous outing Monday against the Twins, surrendering nine earned runs across just three innings of work.
In doing so, Giolito achieved an extremely rare and unfortunate feat, becoming the first player since 1899 to surrender eight earned runs in a start for three different teams in the same season, according to OptaSTATS.  
The 29-year-old landed in Cleveland after being included in the mass exodus of waivers by the Angels. Anaheim had only acquired Giolito from the White Sox at the MLB trade deadline.
