Former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski retired (for the second time) ahead of the 2022 season, but he admitted to Kay Adams on Wednesday that there’s one specific record he would unretire in order to reclaim, should it ever be broken.
During an appearance on Up and Adams, Gronkowski told Adams that if his record for most touchdowns in a single season by a tight end was ever shattered, he would “have to” come out of retirement in order to try and reclaim it.
“I’m not sweating it, but if someone beats it, I’m coming back to football.

Time and time again here I’ve written and been a guest on television shows to alert everyone that Saudi Arabia is the new Chinese threat.
With the Kingdom’s unlimited wealth and controlling the most important three-letter word in the world called O-I-L, they are not even hiding their intentions of capitalizing (without the capitalism) over the sports and entertainment world.
Sean Payton will coach his first regular season game since the 2021 season on Sunday and will also make his Broncos debut against one of the best offensive players in the NFL: Josh Jacobs. Ahead of the matchup, Payton didn’t try to hide his admiration for the talented Raiders tailback when asked about him.
“We wouldn’t tailor our plan — our plan defensively is: Here are the key players,” Payton said, per NFL.com. “He certainly is one of the more dominant running backs in the NFL, so that’s how we’ll approach the game.
The Colts took a substantial risk drafting Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson fourth in the 2023 NFL draft. His raw talent has never been in question, but much of his college potential went unrealized as the Gators limped to a 6–7 record in his only full season starting.
However, early returns have been positive for Indianapolis. Colts coach Shane Steichen named Richardson the team’s starter on Aug. 15, and an anecdote Steichen shared Wednesday underlined how pleased Indianapolis has been with his progress.
Kansas City opened as a 6.5-point favorite at home Thursday vs. the Lions, but that number fell to 4.5 after news of Travis Kelce’s injury came out. Even if Kelce doesn’t play, however, there are plenty of offensive playmakers who could be expected to perform well with the game total set all the way up at 51.5 at SI Sportsbook.
Continue to monitor Kelce’s status. For now I am fading his player props, but if he plays he could be worth the anytime TD wager or see if you can get a discount on his receiving yards. Amon-Ra St.
Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones will not be present with the team on Wednesday, coach Josh McDaniels announced.
On Tuesday, Jones posted multiple irate messages to his Instagram story, saying that he had been locked out of the team’s workout facility, and took jabs at McDaniels and Raiders general manager David Ziegler.
In speaking with reporters, McDaniels described Jones situation as a “day to day” scenario.
“That’s kind of a personal situation,” McDaniels said, per Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. “We’ve never really gone into those things.
LSU gymnast and NIL megastar Livvy Dunne’s boyfriend — you may know him as Pittsburgh Pirates No. 1 draft pick Paul Skenes — has been hit with some bad news.
Skenes has pitched for both the Single-A Bradenton Marauders and the Double-A Altoona Curve. His recently confirmed lady friend, Dunne, was spotted at games in both cities.
That was certainly cool for her. She got to see her fella pitch and take in the sights and sounds of Altoona. Stuff like the famous Horseshoe Curve that gave the team its name.
On paper, Friday’s FIBA World Cup semifinal between the United States and Germany scans as a mismatch. The Americans boast a team made up of a dozen NBA players in contrast to the Germans’ four.
However, at least one of Germany’s players has familiarity with a United States counterpart. Veteran Raptors guard Dennis Schröder played with Lakers guard Austin Reaves in 2023, and together they contributed to Los Angeles’s surprise run to the Western Conference finals.
James Harden’s dismay with the 76ers has been evident over the past several months. From demanding a trade to calling out general manager Daryl Morey, Harden’s days in Philadelphia appear to be numbered, which is an outcome he’d certainly welcome. But apparently, Harden’s distaste for his role with the team started long before the summer.
Harden joined the 76ers with the understanding that he’d be the second option to Joel Embiid, the reigning MVP, and he sacrificed his usual superstar role this past season.
Outside linebacker Carl Nassib, who in 2021 became the first openly gay active player in the NFL, announced his retirement.
