The XFL is back. After the league was shut down during 2020, at the height of the pandemic, the XFL returned to the field this week under new ownership. The new iteration of the league is owned by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Dany Garcia, and a RedBird Capital, who purchased the league from Vince McMahon for just $15M.
While the league might be back, its greatest tradition is not.

These two NBA legends don’t seem to like Salt Lake City at all.
Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal are very good at their NBA on TNT jobs because they are never afraid to share what is exactly on their minds, for good or bad.

The San Francisco 49ers have a two-quarterback faceoff between Trey Lance and Brock Purdy heading into next season, and pitching his pick for the contest is legendary Niners tight end, Vernon Davis.
Davis was asked about his former team and their plans to rebound from the NFC Championship blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

It’s been less than three months since the United States government freed a Russian arms dealer in a trade for WNBA star Brittney Griner. Now she’s back to basketball with her first signed contract since the prisoner swap.
Announced Saturday via sources with ESPN, the 32-year-old has agreed to rejoin the Phoenix Mercury on a one-year deal.
The past year for Griner has been a tough ride. On Feb. 2022, Griner was detained at a Russian airport for carrying around a THC pen, which is met with harsh punishment in Russia. She had been playing overseas at the time.

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider recently saved a choking woman at a restaurant by performing the Heimlich Maneuver. Schneider did not previously know the woman, who was with a group of friends at another table.
According to Sportsnet, “The incident occurred about two weeks ago at an establishment on the town’s main drag, about three kilometres from the Blue Jays’ player development complex.”

Manager John Schneider was out at lunch with his wife, when a woman at another table was choking and couldn’t breathe.

With the NBA deciding to hold this year’s All-Star draft prior to tipoff, the excitement surrounding the draft order was as palpable as it has ever been. And, apparently, the new format made East captain Giannis Antetokounmpo a little eager while making his first few selections.
Antetokounmpo and West captain LeBron James took center stage in Utah to pick their teams for the star-studded showcase.
