Offensive Lineman Michael Dunn — a journeyman fella who turned 29 today — was cut by the Browns this afternoon.
Honestly, that in itself ain’t a story. Journeyman linemen get cut like I go through tins of Copenhagen, especially this time of year. Dunn will probably find his way to another team before dinner.

Alabama fans will have to wait until Saturday to know the program’s starters, including the team’s quarterback when the Crimson Tide take the field for their 2023 season opener.
Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban elected to not release a depth chart of the team’s starters and backup players to eliminate “distractions” as well as to keep players motivated on competing for playing time.
“I want all of our players to continue to compete, continue to compete for playing time, to try to play at the highest level,” Saban told reporters, per ESPN.

Heat star Jimmy Butler’s love for tennis is no secret, especially after he was seen working as a ball boy ahead of this year’s U.S. Open last week.
Butler has become friends with various tennis stars, including World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, who is competing to defend his title at the U.S. Open. He also just won Wimbledon last month. 
The NBA player has even sat in Alcaraz’s player’s box on occasion. It wouldn’t be too shocking if Butler showed up there at the U.S. Open.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is someone who very much goes to the beat of his own drum, and his character was on full display during Team USA’s matchup with Greece in the FIBA World Cup.
With the U.S. already up 21 points in the third quarter, Edwards stepped to the free-throw line. Just as he was about to release his second attempt a fan decided to scream at the top of their lungs. After making his shot from the charity stripe, Edwards yelled back at the fan in hilarious fashion.

Khang defeated Jin Young Ko in the first playoff hole to finally win her first LPGA championship at the CPKC Women’s Open in Canada.
Megan Khang held on Sunday to claim her first LPGA title at the CPKC Women’s Open in Vancouver, B.C.
Jin Young Ko challenged Khang, erasing a large deficit on Sunday. They tied at 9-under after 72 holes. Ko was down by five shots ahead of the final round, but her final round 69 put her in the playoff.
It only took one extra hole to declare a winner though.

On Saturday, FIFA suspended the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, for 90 days to conduct an investigation. Rubiales kissed striker Jennifer Hermoso following the team’s victory in the Women’s World Cup final.
Although Hermoso initially said that she “did not enjoy that,” she later said it was no big deal.
“It was a mutual, totally spontaneous gesture because of the huge joy of winning a World Cup,” she said in an interview with Spain’s EFE. “The ‘presi’ and I have a great relationship. His behavior with us has been a ’10.
