Shohei Ohtani does something absolutely remarkable on the baseball field on a seemingly daily basis, and Friday night was no different for the Angels’ two-way superstar.
In the sixth inning of Los Angeles’s 6–2 loss to the Diamondbacks, Ohtani hit a mammoth 493-foot home run, the longest of his MLB career and his 30th of the season. He is the first player to reach 30 homers on the season, and is two clear of the Braves’ Matt Olsen for the MLB lead.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, this is also the longest home run of the entire MLB season so far.

OH MY, SHOHEI 😱

None of us ever threw a perfect game or a no hitter and I think the number one reason is we all threw too many strikes. You have to be effectively wild to throw a no hitter, but not in a perfect game.

San Diego State will NOT be leaving the Mountain West Conference after months of speculation the Aztecs would be on the move.
SDSU was the PAC-12’s top expansion target. The belief has been for months the Aztecs would be scooped up by the PAC-12 in order to shore up the conference losing USC and UCLA to the Big Ten.
However, it’s not going to happen. Despite San Diego State previously sending a letter to the MWC indicating it was leaving, no PAC-12 invite came by the end of June and that means SDSU isn’t going anywhere.
