Joe Burrow said he was involved in getting his historic new contract with Cincinnati finished, with the hopes of allowing the Bengals to retain key players in future years.
The Washington Commanders are just about to start their first season in the post-Dan Snyder era.
And for many Washington area football fans, that’s brought hope for a return to the organization’s former glory. As well as its former team name.
READ: FANS CHANT ‘F*** DAN SNYDER’ AFTER ANNOUNCEMENT THAT NEW COMMANDERS OWNER JOSH HARRIS IS BUYING THEM ALL BEERS
But new Commanders owner Josh Harris has made it clear he wants to shut down those conversations before they start. Harris recently made it clear that he has no intention of returning to the Redskins name.
Nebraska quarterback Jeff Sims had a rough first half vs. Colorado, as he lost two fumbles and threw an interception in two quarters alone. Those three turnovers directly led to 10 Colorado points as the Buffaloes took a 13–0 lead into halftime.
As Sims’s struggles unfolded, even the announcers recognized how bad it was getting. Right before Sims threw the interception, Fox Sports play-by-play man Gus Johnson pleaded with Nebraska to bench Sims for the quarterback’s sake.
“I just feel like somebody shot me,” the right-handed pitcher said of his injury.
We all knew that Deion Sanders was bringing his luggage to Colorado, but getting fans to buy-in was a whole different element of the job. After months of promoting his program and using Boulder as a backdrop, Deion has the city rabid for the Buffaloes.
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen this type of energy around the program, especially on a gameday. Fans were arriving around 5 a.m. for today’s kickoff, with a student section that I don’t think has stopped hitting the sauce since last weekend’s win over TCU.
It didn’t take long for Colorado to christen its latest item on the sideline in the Deion Sanders era as head coach.
Colorado introduced a new turnover throne ahead of Saturday’s game against Nebraska. The fancy chair, trimmed in gold and donning “iBELIEVE” at the bottom, is the sanctum where Buffalo players will visit after generating a turnover in the game.
On a third down attempt from the Buffaloes’ 31 in the Cornhuskers’ opening drive, quarterback Jeff Sims fumbled the ball on a sack by the Buffaloes’ defense. Colorado took over from its own 35.
You wanna know what makes this country great? Look no further than the new Turnover Throne on the Colorado sideline today. Forget everything you know about college football props. Chains, axes, crowns, whatever — they’re all obsolete now.
Deion Sanders — as he’s done for months now — has set a new standard, not only at Colorado but for all of college football.
Behold, the turnover throne!

Star wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. helped No. 5 Ohio State get off to a fast start on Saturday with an electric 71-yard touchdown against Youngstown State.
Quarterback Kyle McCord found Harrison Jr. down the near sideline in stride, before the receiver did the rest and out-raced the Penguins secondary.
The elite wideout, who only had two receptions for 18 yards last week in the team’s 23–3 win over Indiana, scored his first touchdown of his junior campaign in impressive style.

ESPN has not announced where College GameDay will be next week, but it seems that Lee Corso and the rest of the crew let it slip.
Earlier in the show, the crew appeared to dance around the fact that they are likely going to Colorado next week. Then, during the picks section of the broadcast, Corso implied that GameDay will travel to Boulder if Colorado defeats Nebraska on Saturday.
Finally, Kirk Herbstreit confirmed that GameDay will be in Boulder next week when Colorado hosts Colorado State.
