The Los Angeles Angels are going for it.
In recent weeks and months there has been immense speculation, discussion and debate over what the Angels should be doing with their two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani. It appears the answer is nothing.
Late Wednesday night, the Angels doubled down and acquired pitchers Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez from the White Sox in exchange for minor league pitchers. The move helps bolster their bullpen and gives them options (as well as weapons) to set up for a playoff run.

Chase Claypool knows he has something to prove.
The Chicago Bears made a mid-season trade for the 25-year-old in 2022 and had plans to make him their WR1. But so far, the experiment hasn’t quite worked out. Fans are frustrated, and Claypool is feeling the heat.
“It’s the biggest year of my life, and I understand that,” Claypool said after camp on Wednesday. “If anybody thinks my work ethic isn’t matching that, they’re deeply mistaken.”
Claypool was an up-and-coming wideout for the Steelers after posting more than 800 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons.

As the 2023 NFL season slowly creeps into the foreground, HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ is almost here to bridge the gap for football fans and give a small taste of what’s to come. There are few things that get the blood pumping like the Hard Knocks theme song!

One of those few things that out-hype the theme song is the first clip from the show that leaks around this time each year. And sure enough, it dropped Wednesday afternoon.
This year’s show will feature the New York Jets — even though the organization tried its best to avoid that exact situation.

Sean Payton is back in the NFL as the head coach of the Broncos, and he has no time or interest in sparing anyone’s feelings during his first season in Denver. This includes the darlings of the NFL offseason, the Jets, who Payton had directly in his crosshairs with recent comments.
During a recent interview with USA Today’s Jarrett Bell, Payton responded to the topic of Denver’s woefully disappointing season last year … by flipping the script and putting Gang Green on blast.

Radio host Mike Valenti made some incredibly strange comments directed at Michigan fans, and he might want to consider dialing back the rhetoric.
Valenti, who is a Michigan State alum, was talking about the Spartans playing the Wolverines under the lights October 21 in East Lansing.
It should be an epic game, especially given the brawl that happened in 2022. There was an absolute melee in the tunnel against Michigan players that saw multiple MSU players arrested. The rematch in East Lansing should be a crazy atmosphere.

Mike McDaniel is talking about his second season with the Miami Dolphins and the topic that rises above others swirling in that complicated mind of this coach is improvement.
Getting better.
“…I think that each and every year of my career that I can remember, my sole focus has always been to be better than the previous year,” McDaniel told reporters in South Florida. “That’s a lot easier when you know exactly what you’re getting better at. So that’s exciting.”
