Fred VanVleet and the Raptors parted ways during NBA free agency, as the 29-year-old agreed to a big-money contract with the Rockets.
After locking down the three-year, $130 million deal in Houston, VanVleet took to Instagram to bid farewell to the city of Toronto, where he’s played for the last seven seasons.
VanVleet sent Raptors fans a heartfelt message on Instagram, thanking them for giving him the opportunity to develop into the player he has become today.

Justin Thomas was as displeased about the lack of TV coverage for the Rocket Mortgage Classic, but put it aside for Rickie Fowler’s sake.
Sunday’s final round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic got underway much earlier than scheduled. There was inclement weather expected, so tee times were moved up more than four hours.
As Rickie Fowler, along with fellow leaders Adam Hadwin and Collin Morikawa played an exciting final round, none of it aired live on television.
CBS decided to allow for it be streamed online for free.
Two more names have reportedly been added to the growing list of ESPN employees parting ways with the company this week. Sports betting insider Doug Kezirian’s contract will not be renewed, according to Front Office Sports. And boxing analyst Andre Ward, a former world champion, also announced he’s parting ways with the organization via Twitter.
“Tonight’s show was the last fight under my ESPN contract,” Ward wrote on Twitter on Sunday. “It’s been a great ride and I’m going to miss the whole ESPN crew that I’ve worked with for the last six years.

Rickie Fowler finally ended the drought. The reactions to his sixth PGA Tour victory at the Rocket Mortgage Classic were incredible.
Rickie Fowler is a winner again. A four-year drought has finally been squashed, and the world feels like a better place. Not many people got to watch the incredible win, but Fowler ended his 1,610-day cold streak. The television schedule for Sunday was a hot mess, and that’s unfortunate for Fowler.
It was clear that Detroit was rooting for Rickie to win.
Talor Gooch is dominating the LIV Golf tour this season. On Sunday, Gooch captured the LIV Golf Andalucia title. After the win, Gooch discussed deserving a spot on the United States Ryder Cup team.
The victory represented his third win this season, all of which have come in the past five events on the Saudi-backed Tour.
For this win, Gooch secured a one-shot victory over Bryson DeChambeau, thanks to a birdie putt on the final hole. Brooks Koepka finished third, three shots behind Gooch.
Gooch leads the LIV Golf tour standings, though I honestly don’t know what that means.

Rickie Fowler has finally ended the drought after four years and four months as he won a playoff to win the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Rickie Fowler has finally done it. He is in the winner’s circle again after beating out Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin to win the Rocket Mortgage Classic in a playoff. He shot a bogey-free 68 in the final round, including a birdie on the 18th to get into the playoff.
That approach shot on the 72nd hole was such a clutch shot. He followed it up by making the 3-foot putt, getting to 24-under.
