Sunday represented the final day of the 2023 season’s unofficial first half, with the All-Star break ringing in a four-day break for teams throughout the league. Some clubs could use the break more than others, though the off time is not just a respite for players and coaches—it’s also a much-needed bit of breathing room for the umpires who work just as often as anybody else in the game.

Heading into Sunday’s final round at the John Deere Classic, Sepp Straka sat four shots back of leader Brendon Todd at TPC Deere Run.
Not only did Straka trail Todd, but 13 other players had a better score than Straka going into round four.
