The Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Mixon have come to an agreement that will see the star running back continue wearing the black and orange uniform for at least one more season.
To show just how much Mixon wanted to stay with the team that he has called home for what will be his 7th NFL season, he actually took a pay cut with the organization. Mixon is now set to make $6 million, rather than his original $9.4 million base salary – a pretty significant $3.4 million decrease.

Unseeded Markéta Vondroušová of the Czech Republic made history on Saturday in the women’s Wimbledon final, winning her first grand slam title in historic fashion, 6–4, 6–4 over 2022 runner-up Ons Jabeur.
With the victory, Vondrousova became the lowest-ranked winner and first-ever unseeded woman to capture the Wimbledon title. The 24-year-old, who is No. 42 in the world, was the first unseeded woman to reach the final at Wimbledon in 60 years, according to The Associated Press.
Vondroušová has been awaiting another opportunity to win a grand slam.
The NBA is waiting on a Damian Lillard trade, but according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, there’s reason to believe a deal might take weeks—if not months—to materialize.
At long last, Lillard is ready to move on from the Trail Blazers, the only team he’s played for during his NBA career, after the club’s recent struggles. Lillard has also made it clear that he wants to play for the Heat, fresh off of their run to the NBA Finals, and Miami appears to be the only strong bidder for the seven-time All-Star.
Vondroušová became the first unseeded player to win Wimbledon.
Vondrousova triumphed in straight sets on Centre Court as Jabeur lost in the final for the second year running
As the NBA world remains on Damian Lillard trade watch, the star point guard responded to a Twitter “mishap” in which he liked a tweet suggesting that Trail Blazers governor Jody Allen should sell the team.
The tweet, which came from Portland fan Daniel Redelk said “[Trail Blazers] please sell to Phil Knight he’ll talk [Damian Lillard] into staing and doesn’t care about goin into the luxury tax. Please sell to him,,,he’ll (sic) [Seahawks] are already there please don’t let Portland suffer we’d like to see [Lillard] win a title here in Portland.
Hawks guard Trae Young will forever be tied to, and compared to, Mavericks star Luka Dončić thanks to a 2018 draft night trade between Atlanta and Dallas.
Often, when picks are exchanged in the top five for players who have yet to set foot on the hardwood, there’s a tendency for one team to get a generational player and for another team to miss out.
In this case, the draft night deal between the Hawks and the Mavericks actually worked out for both sides. Atlanta selected Dončić No. 3 overall, and traded him to Dallas for Young, who was the No. 5 pick.
Curt Schilling: 1Alex Rodriguez: 0
This past week on The Curt Schilling Baseball Show, the Cy-Young award winning, World Series Champion pitcher told a hilarious story about when he stared down Alex Rodriguez and became the victor during the 2002 All-Star Game.
At the time, the 35-year-old Schilling was pitching for the Arizona Diamondbacks while a 26-year-old A-Rod was with the Texas Rangers.
To his credit, this is when Alex Rodriguez was prime Alex Rodriguez.
Former Notre Dame and NFL free agent tight end Kyle Rudolph will call Big Ten games for NBC this fall, he told The Athletic earlier this week.
Rudolph, who spent his college career playing nationally televised home games on NBC with the Irish, will now step into a role calling games as part of the new Big Ten television package with NBC. Rudolph hasn’t officially retired from the NFL, but the step into broadcasting is a good indication that his playing days may be behind him.
Rudolph called Notre Dame’s spring football game in his first official warm-up for his new role.
Vondrousova could become the first unseeded women’s Wimbledon champion in history, or Jabeur could become the first African woman in the Open era to win the title. Our experts make predictions.
