Deuce Vaughn is already so much fun for the Cowboys
If you haven’t heard, Cowboys rookie RB Deuce Vaughn is small.
And not just small, Deuce Vaughn is tiny.
He’s officially listed by the Cowboys at 5’6 and 176 pounds, about the same size as your average NFL podcaster. But, Vaughn makes up for that lack of size with speed and agility that would bring the biggest defenders to their knees.
Vaughn has been getting reps at Cowboys training camp, and the size difference between him and the other players on the field is … stark, to say the least.

This beef was more contentious than delicious
What makes the USWNT’s fight for equal pay “beef” instead of just a labor dispute? Was it when Mia Hamm threatened to retire in 1999 because the head honchos wouldn’t let the team go on a victory tour? Little bit.
Was it when one of the guys cutting their checks essentially said he was proud of being a chauvinist? Yep, uh huh.
It was also beef when U.S. Soccer got pretty sexist in an official court filing.

Before the formal announcement of Errol Spence Jr.–Terence Crawford, before thousands of super fight-starved boxing fans descended on Sin City, before the bells and whistles that come with a major fight week, before the two best 147-pound fighters in the world squared off for welterweight—and perhaps pound-for-pound—supremacy, few believed it would happen. Negotiations were getting too sticky. Spence was getting too big. Crawford was more likely ticketed for another ho-hum title defense. Spence was preparing to drop his belts and move up to 154 pounds.
Who didn’t believe it: Spence.

One of the most entertaining aspects of the NBA is the push-pull tension that crops up every season as teams seek to meet the sometimes lofty expectations that have been set for them.
While a number of teams have high hopes, the reality is that only one can walk away having won the NBA championship. Raw feelings and disappointment will be on display for just about everyone else.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the four clubs facing the most pressure heading into 2023–24.

Taulia Tagovailoa was apparently offered a significant amount of money to leave Maryland for the SEC.
Taulia is getting ready to suit up for his redshirt senior season with the Terrapins, and there were a lot of fans who worried he might leave the program after last season.
After all, the transfer portal is essentially just NFL free agency for the best players. You can hate it or love it, but it’s true.
Well, the SEC NIL kings apparently made a play and ultimately failed to lure Tua’s younger brother back to the conference he started at with Alabama.

We still have no idea who will be on Season 2 of Netflix’s Quarterback. But we do know who won’t.
Add Geno Smith to the growing list of QBs who have turned down an opportunity to appear on the series.
But the Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowler says he does enjoy watching the show.
“I thought it was cool, I thought all the guys did a great job. I was happy more people got insight into the life of a quarterback and our jobs,” Smith told reporters Thursday. “This is a hard job, but if you don’t see what we do, it gets taken for granted.

The PGA Tour has long been a tax-exempt business under section 501(c)(6) of the U.S. Tax Code, but with its recently announced plans to merge with the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) is on a mission to remove the Tour’s tax exemption.
Wyden, the Senate Finance Committee Chairman, has officially introduced two new bills that would not only revoke the PGA Tour’s tax exemption status but also deem the Saudi PIF ineligible for any lucrative tax break that typically applies to sovereign wealth funds.

The Red Sox have a hole to fill at shortstop after trading Kiké Hernández to the Dodgers this week. Luckily, they have a great candidate waiting in the wings.
Ceddanne Rafaela is Boston’s No. 2 prospect, according to MLB.com. The 22-year-old plays both shortstop and centerfield and has rocketed through the system after starting last season at High A Greenville. He was promoted to Double A Portland midway through last season and got called up to Triple A Worcester on June 28. While Rafaela is a well-rounded player, his best attribute might be his speed.
