The night before AEW comes to Boston for the “Blood & Guts” edition of Dynamite, wrestling icon Matt Hardy will set the stage with an evening full of memories.
Hosting a live, in-person episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast Tuesday just north of Boston at the famed Kowloon restaurant, Hardy will rewatch the ladder match from WWE’s No Mercy pay-per-view in 1999 that turned Edge, Christian, and Matt and his brother Jeff Hardy into bona fide superstars.

There’s no set rule, no specific level of fantasy failure that must be attained in order to call a player a bust. A bust is a bust is a bust. You know it when you see it.
For the most part, it’s about expectations. More to the point, it’s about failing to live up to lofty expectations. Or maybe the expectations are average but the player is just so ridiculously bad that he’s got to be considered a bust.
2023 Fantasy Football Draft Kit
The bottom line: If you draft a player that merits bust consideration, it can destroy your fantasy season.
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey paid tribute to the late, great Mike Leach on Monday at the start of the 2023 SEC media days event.
In a small but heartwarming gesture, Sankey took to the podium sans a necktie, paying homage to the legendary college football coach who died in December 2022 due to complications from a heart condition.
The tribute stems from a conversation Sankey and Leach had at the 2022 SEC media days, during which the former Mississippi State head coach iterated that he’s not a fan of neckties, preferring not to wear them at all.
The Cincinnati Reds are suddenly struggling. Following a 22-game stretch in which the team homered in every game — breaking a franchise record — and went 17-5, they’ve lost four straight. More important, the offense has disappeared. So, they’ve called up Christian Encarnacion-Strand to the big leagues.
During the first three games of the Reds’ losing streak, they scored 0 runs.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan announced Monday that he suffered a broken back after a tree limb fell on him at his Kansas City home.
“During cleanup after a big storm in KC, a large tree limb decided to fall and crush me,” Passan wrote on Twitter. “The good news: I still have use of my arms, legs and Twitter fingers. The bad news: I have a broken back.
“The vertebra fracture will heal,” he continued. “I will be better. I’m hoping the pain subsides between now and the trade deadline, through painkiller-fueled tweets could be a fun time.”

Longtime Kentucky coach John Calipari’s son, Brad, has been hired as the director of on-court player development at Vanderbilt, making him a direct SEC rival to his father.
The young Calipari had his own career at Kentucky as a player and graduate assistant. He played as a guard for the Wildcats during the 2016–17 and ’17–18 seasons before transferring to Detroit Mercy in ’19 to finish his college career.
Calipari earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s certificate from Kentucky.
After years of carrying his NBA teams, Shaq briefly traded roles over the weekend. Nearly a dozen kids attempted to carry Shaquille O’Neal from the water during a Hawaiian vacation.
We’ve all playfully carried our dads throughout the water before. Easy enough, right? Normally, yes. But most dads aren’t 7-foot-1 and more than 330 pounds like Shaq.
And that is precisely why more than a starting five, sixth man and a couple of benchwarmers were needed to move the Hall of Famer from water to (almost) land.
Lionel Messi’s first day in the MLS may have been a premonition of disappointment. The 36-year-old soccer legend managed to get nutmegged before even playing his first match with the club and the weather wasn’t in his favor.
Messi, whose contract with Inter Miami became official on Saturday, announced that he would be making the move to America a little more than a month ago. He arrived in Florida last week and immediately became one with the people of the Sunshine State.
Bryce Harper has benefitted greatly from the MLB adopting the universal DH. Now that the Philadelphia Phillies have the option, they use Harper almost exclusively in that slot.
But, according to their manager Rob Thomson, the team is going to deploy Harper at first base this week. Though he did not say which game or how often, this is the plan moving forward.
According to MLB.com, “Whenever Harper takes the field at first, it will mark his first time playing defense in an MLB game since April 16, 2022, in Miami, when he played eight innings in right field.
Jazz rookie Ed Croswell was trying to make the most of his limited minutes during Utah’s Summer League clash against the Rockets on Sunday night.
After Croswell scored on a dunk, for his only points of the game, the 6’8” forward hung on the rim as he tried to land safely on the floor. Unfortunately, Houston’s Nate Hinton was lying underneath the basket after being knocked to the floor.
When Croswell released the rim and fell back to the floor, he landed squarely on the groin of Hinton, who grimaced in pain after what appeared to be incidental contact.
