Each year, the American Century Championship pits celebrities and athletes against one another for a golf tournament. Don’t let all the fun fool you — these players want to win. Tony Romo is a three-time champion, including last year. But he didn’t repeat this year. In fact, he wasn’t even the best NFL/former NFL finisher. That goes to new Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers is an avid golfer himself. However, he doesn’t have the time to dedicate to the game that Romo does since he’s still playing in the NFL.

The last time Angel Reese and the Cavinder twins—Hanna and Haley—crossed paths in a sports environment, it was Reese’s LSU team knocking out the Cavinders’s Miami team in the Elite Eight of this year’s NCAA tournament. This week, though, the trio banded together at the sports world’s annual red carpet-event: the ESPY Awards.
The Cavinders, who have parlayed their college basketball careers and ensuing fame into the WWE, were in attendance as Reese was honored as the Best Breakthrough Athlete.

Steve Stricker has done it again. He won the Senior Players Championship Sunday, giving him three Senior Tour majors on the season. Stricker beat David Toms by three strokes after shooting a final round 66.

He previously won The Regions Tradition in May and the Senior PGA Championship a week later.
Whoa … just take it easy, man. One disgruntled Rockies fan frighted New York Yankees rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe during Saturday’s game between the Bombers and Colorado.
Moments before the eighth inning, a fan rushed onto the grass at Coors Field toward Volpe. Security ran after the rogue fan, who arrived several feet from Volpe and angrily shouted in the 22-year-old’s direction. He then threw a shirt at Volpe; the Yank admitted to being “startled” by the whole scene.
Bryce Harper is likely to play first base in at least one game against the Brewers this week, Nationals manager Rob Thomson told reporters on Sunday morning. It would be the first time he’ll take the field on defense since April 16, 2022.
Thomson did not specify in which game Harper would play first base, but the series is slated to start Tuesday night. Harper has played DH in his 58 starts this season, touting a .298 batting average and 65 hits with his four home runs.
The question of where DeAndre Hopkins will play this season has been answered, as he’s expected to sign a two-year deal with the Titans. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the deal is worth up to $32 million with incentives.
It’s a good move for a team that had a real need in the passing game, and it should make Hopkins a valuable asset in fantasy leagues — albeit maybe not an “elite” asset.
Of course, Titans fans might be skeptical after the signings of other “older” wideouts in the past, like Randy Moss, Andre Johnson and most recently Julio Jones.
