Early in the second quarter of the Indiana Pacers’ 108-85 victory over the Orlando Magic on Monday afternoon, rookie forward Jarace Walker recovered around a screen to spike a shot into teammate Kendall Brown’s hands. Twenty seconds after, he speared the ball out of Jett Howard’s clutches for a steal that sparked a Bennedict Mathurin dunk and Orlando timeout.

The drama is starting already.
The 2023 edition of Hard Knocks was quickly turning into a mess. As recently as a month ago there were reports that none of the four eligible teams for show wanted to be featured — leading to an extreme delay in the announcement from the NFL. In the end the league forced the Jets hand, making them this year’s subject.
NFL and NFL Films have selected the New York Jets to serve as this year’s team on Hard Knocks, per sources.

Days after signing a lucrative new contract to remain with the Mavericks, Kyrie Irving has also landed a sneaker deal. After being dropped by Nike in 2022, the point guard has signed with Chinese sneaker company ANTA.
Irving’s signature shoe with the company is set for an early 2024 release, and he will serve as the company’s chief creative officer as part of the deal.
“I’m incredibly excited about this collaboration,” Irving said, per Boardroom. “The first step in becoming partners is to share the same dreams, goals, and missions.
Darvin Ham received high praise for his playoff adjustments during the Lakers’ run to the Western Conference finals. He also deserves plenty of praise for being as blunt and candid as any coach in the NBA while addressing hot-button topics that people badly want to hear more about.
