One of the most popular refrains of the John Calipari era in Lexington has been Kentucky will eat first.
The original context here was simple: Regardless of what rule changes would come (when the comment was made in 2017, the questions surrounded the one-and-done rule), Kentucky would get its pick of the litter in recruiting.
This year Kentucky has eaten, well, last. It faced a near-unprecedented roster dilemma for a program of its caliber, having just seven scholarship players (all freshmen and sophomores) fully committed on June 1 for the upcoming season.

Derrick Rose is one of the biggest names in NBA free agency this offseason after the Knicks declined to pick up the point guard’s $15.6 million option for next season.
Three teams are reportedly interested in adding Rose, according to NBA insider Marc Stein, including the Suns, the Bucks and his former team, the Bulls.
The Chicago native was drafted by the Bulls with the No. 1 pick in 2008 and played there until ’16. During his tenure, the Bulls made seven consecutive playoff runs but never made it to the NBA Finals. It would be quite the reunion for the three-time All-Star.

The Panthers have had a different leading rusher four years running and their offseason moves made sure that streak would extend to five consecutive seasons.
2019: Christian McCaffrey
2020: Mike Davis

Patterson, a former five-star recruit, was the highest-rated Pro-Style quarterback in the Class of 2016.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Devon Allen participated in the USATF NYC Grand Prix over the weekend and ran his fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles. His 13.04 time also happens to be tied for the fourth-fastest in the entire world in 2023.
The 28-year-old signed with the Eagles in April last year and spent all of last season on the team’s practice squad. His jump into the NFL was a bit surprising given the fact that he had last played football back in 2016 during his final season with the Oregon Ducks.
