The NFL season’s first month is complete and there are some things we’ve come to know about Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton, Kansas City right tackle Jawaan Taylor, Rams coach Brandon Staley, the New York Jets, and Panthers left tackle Ickey Ekwonu.
Let’s begin with the coaches:
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA – SEPTEMBER 24: Head coach Brandon Staley of the Los Angeles Chargers throws a challenge flag during the second quarter against the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium on September 24, 2023 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Here’s a look at some of the fantasy players who had the best and worst performances of the weekend. These players are already on fantasy rosters in most leagues, so take this information into potential trade talks as you try to sell high or buy low.

Love has been better than advertised this season, scoring 20-plus fantasy points in all three of his starts. His most impressive performance came this week, as he put up nearly 25 fantasy points against a formidable New Orleans defense.
The biggest story of Sunday’s NFL Week 3 action centered around, well, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
OK, that’s not really true. What the Dolphins did to Sean Payton and the Broncos was pretty wild. So was what happened in Arizona, where the Cardinals stunned the Cowboys.
But the Kelce-Swift relationship was a huge storyline, too, thanks to the pop star showing up at Arrowhead Stadium for the Bears–Chiefs game and then possibly dropping a F-bomb after Kelce scored a touchdown.
Wisconsin Badgers RB Chez Mellusi’s season looks like it’s over after just four games.
The talented running back and Badgers star went down in the fourth quarter against Purdue late Friday night, and it appeared the injury was absolutely devastating.
You can watch the play below, but be warned that it might make your stomach sick.

Well, it appears the worst case scenario has come true for Mellusi and the Wisconsin Badgers.
The New York Jets are a mess. Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles during the opening drive of the season didn’t help things, but with that in the rearview, all you can do is live in the present, and Jets legend Joe Namath doesn’t like what he’s seeing.
Most fans around the NFL have pointed at Zach Wilson as the issue, especially after his horrid first half performance against the New England Patriots.
Simone Biles reacted to a viral video featuring a young Black gymnast getting passed over during a medal ceremony.
In the video, a lineup of young girls are granted awards, minus the one Black participant in the group. The footage prompted viewers online to assume racist motives by the official and the organization that overlooked the event.
Simone Biles immediately denounced the video and called it evidence of modern racism with a response on X. The footage from a 2022 Irish gymnastics event in Dublin, Ireland, recirculated online on Friday.

Embarrassing doesn’t even come close to explaining this.
Hiring Sean Payton wasn’t smart, but it sure was flashy — and when has that ever worked out? Payton, who has never been a defensive genius, had the most embarassing performance in NFL history by letting the Dolphins drop a 70-burger on his Broncos, being saved from history by the grace of Mike McDaniel.
That isn’t hyperbole either.
NFL officiating continues to boggle the mind, and it appears refs missed another glaring pass interference in overtime during the Colts/Ravens game.
On 4th & 3rd with time winding down in OT, Lamar Jackson attempted a shot pass to Zay Flowers that fell incomplete.
However, it certainly didn’t help that linebacker E.J. Speed appeared to tackle the Ravens receiver as he came across the middle. The Colts eventually kicked a game-winning field goal after getting the ball back.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell continues to prove he’s one of the best motivators in all of sports.
Campbell and the Lions pulled off a very solid 20-6 win over the Atlanta Falcons for fans Sunday. Detroit now sits at 2-1, and what always happens after a great Lions win?
Dan Campbell gives a speech like he’s a general recapping a great victory on the battlefield. While it wasn’t his best work, the man responsible for leading the Lions to victory uncorked another solid locker room speech.
“You know what this film is going to say? Because I could see it on the sideline.
Marcus Freeman’s explanation for Notre Dame only having 10 players on the field for the final play against Ohio State makes zero sense.
Ohio State beat Notre Dame 17-14 under the lights Saturday, and punched the ball in from the one yards line as the clock hit zero.
It was quickly revealed the Fighting Irish had only 10 players on the field for Ohio State’s final two games. How could such a mistake be made?
