Rodney Velardi, the manager of Atlantic Cape Community College in New Jersey, resigned from his role as the program’s coach after 13 seasons.
Velardi’s resignation came on May 4, nearly two weeks removed from an 11–4 loss to Rowan College Gloucester County in which two of his players had illegal communication devices found in their helmets.
Rowan freshman pitcher Ethan Dodd approached his coaches following the first game of the team’s series with Atlantic Cape on Apr. 21 after he felt that he may have been tipping his pitches.

Is the crackdown of the crackdown of sticky substances working? In a word, yes. But like spin rates themselves, there is more intrigue beneath the surface.
First, a refresher on the policing of spin. The average NFL ticket price is currently the highest among all American sports. This is likely due both to the NFL’s popularity and the fact that they play significantly less games than they do in other leagues.
After the Nuggets eviscerated the Suns 125–100 in Game 6 on Thursday night to advance to the Western Conference finals, Denver coach Mike Malone explained the limited celebration by the team as the players left the floor.
“We weren’t satisfied winning the first-round, [and] we’re not satisfied now,” he began. “We’re not celebrating and popping champagne and throwing water over each other because our goal wasn’t to get to the Western Conference finals. I keep saying our goal is to win a championship, so we have much more work to do.

The reality is that it’s not easy to give Amazon a great schedule. The best games are always going to go to NBC for Sunday Night Football and then Fox or CBS for the weekly 4:25 p.m. ET national game. Then the NFL has to take care of ESPN and Monday Night Football.
Men’s college basketball’s 60-day transfer portal window closed Thursday, concluding a chaotic stage in the sport’s offseason that saw more than 1,500 players hunt for a new school. Roster movement is far from complete: Players could still trickle into the portal over the next few days as paperwork clears, and graduate transfers can enter the portal at any time. But for the most part, the players left in the portal at this point are the primary names to watch for as teams fill out their rosters for the 2023–24 season.

The two-time Super Bowl champ was inducted into the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame on Friday morning, and while reflecting on his final season as a Rebel, joked that he reached out to see if he was eligible for a COVID year so he could suit up for Ole Miss just one more time.
“About 12 of us had all redshirted, and you know so (we were) fifth-year seniors,” Manning explained.
