It’s that time of year again in MLB.
The end of baseball year is somehow upon us, with the last weekend of the regular season starting Friday. Playoff races are at a boil, as is the debate over individual awards.
And there’s plenty to debate this year, with some flashy numbers and exceptional, unique performances.
So who should win? And who will win?

National League MVP
Who Will Win?
NL MVP is one of the closest races in recent memory, with two outstanding choices and several others who’d be considered in a more normal year.

Since Al Michaels became the voice for Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football, viewers have often been amused by the legendary broadcaster’s ad reads.
The veteran has read copy promoting countless questionable or failed TV projects during his years with ABC and NBC. But would he sound particularly baffled or disinterested in an outlandishly violent series like Gen V?
Michaels’s ad reads during the TNF broadcast include promos for the next week’s matchup.

Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions went into Lambeau Field on Thursday night and thumped the Packers, 34-20, to improve to 3-1 on the season. Goff threw for 210 yards and a touchdown in the victory, which was the Lions’ second primetime win of the season.
Immediately following the game, the quarterback went on the Amazon postgame show and had something to say to Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is one of the analysts on the show. Goff heard Fitzpatrick called him a “poor man’s Matt Ryan” before the game, and threw a little shot at the former quarterback.

It’s always humorous reading past stories of mine and seeing how wrong I was. Last week, I made the rule to never take the under in games that involve the Chargers.
Welp, I need a new rule because the Chargers and Vikings fell 2.5 points shy of last week’s total line of 54.5. Thanks to linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. picking off Kirk Cousins in the end zone to seal the Chargers’ 28–24 victory, I had to eat my words.
But I wasn’t wrong about all my over/under total bets last week.

Green Bay Packers fans were seemingly overrun Thursday night at Lambeau Field by supporters of the Lions.
Detroit walked into the house of their bitter rival, and walked out with a 34-20 win and a 3-1 overall record.
The game wasn’t nearly as close as the score might make some think. It was over by halftime with a 27-3 score. Yes, the Packers closed the gap but the outcome was never in doubt.
While the Lions were impressive on the field, Detroit fans showing up and showing out might have been even more impressive.
