Christian Pulisic’s departure from Chelsea is imminent with the American star having accepted in principle a transfer to Serie A’s AC Milan, according to ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle.
Pulisic, 24, is likely to take a sizable pay cut in order to make the deal work. However, the two clubs have yet to agree on an exact transfer fee as Chelsea is seeking around €25 million ($27.3m) for the forward, with Milan believed to want the deal closer to the €15m–€18m ($16.4m–$19.6m) range, Carlisle reports.

As always, making predictions—especially about the future—is a proceed-at-your-own-risk endeavor. But how do you pick against Novak Djokovic to win the Wimbledon 2023 men’s bracket?
Speaking of 23, that’s how many majors Djokovic has won. The rest of the field? Fewer than 10 combined. Djokovic hasn’t lost at Wimbledon since 2017, and if he does take the title, he’ll match Roger Federer’s record. Additionally, it’s been more than a year since he lost at a major. Otherwise, the field is wide open. But there are 127 other players and 127 matches to be played.
After a rocky 2021 season, the Browns traded Baker Mayfield to the Panthers ahead of last season. He struggled in Carolina, which led to his release midseason, and the former No. 1 pick finished the season with the Rams, playing well-enough to earn a one-year deal with the Buccaneers this year.
Now that last year is behind him, Mayfield has time to reflect on it, and the quarterback believes that his brief time in Los Angeles was a good thing for his career.
“I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. will start up front in the Austrian Grand Prix
During the single practice session ahead of the 2023 Austrian Grand Prix, it seemed that the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. had something extra for the field this week.
Friday’s qualifying session for the Grand Prix confirmed that.
Leclerc is set to start alongside Max Verstappen in second, while Sainz will be right behind him in third. Leclerc was just 0.048 seconds behind Verstappen for pole, with Sainz only 0.
It should come as no surprise that Victor Wembanyama is the favorite to win Rookie of the Year. The Spurs center was billed as a generational prospect in the lead-up to the draft and he went first overall, as expected.
But Wembanyama’s overwhelming odds might warrant a look at the rest of the market.
The upcoming women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand will feature eight different armbands that captains of each team can choose to wear during the tournament. The traditional rainbow armband known as a symbol for LGBTQ pride is not among the eight as FIFA opted out of the symbol entirely.
The ‘OneLove’ armband that was banned during last year’s men’s World Cup in Qatar will be featured for the women’s tournament, but it doesn’t feature the same color scheme seen in the pride rainbow, according to ESPN.
Pat McAfee is trending on Twitter as ESPN continues to lay off various personalities.
The issue, at least online, is that ESPN signed McAfee for around $20 million a year and then cut $30 million worth of in-house salaries.
Already, ESPN has informed Max Kellerman Keyshawn Johnson, Jalen Rose, Suzy Kolber, and Jeff Van Gundy of their departures.
Thus, the timing has sports fans suspicious. Here are some of the trending tweets:

Verstappen has avoided a penalty for impeding Kevin Magnussen during qualifying
We mentioned in the build-up to qualifying for the 2023 Austrian Grand Prix that traffic might be an issue throughout the weekend.
But it will not shake up the starting order for the Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen was summoned to speak with stewards regarding a potential impeding penalty, but the stewards have decided not to take any action:
No hay penalización para Verstappen. Mantiene la pole.

Layoffs at ESPN shook the sports media world on Friday as a number of high-profile, on-air personalities were let go by the network in a move to cut costs. After weeks of speculation and just a handful of reported departures, a plethora of cuts were revealed ahead of the holiday weekend, headlined by some of the company’s biggest names.
ESPN acknowledged the layoffs in a statement but declined to identify those that would be affected. Based on reports or announcements from the individuals themselves, here are those that have been laid off on Friday.
Blake Hiligh and Zachary Pilarcek, two former Buffalo football players, are facing an animal cruelty charge after a social media video appeared to show them abusing a dog, the Erie County District Attorney’s office announced Thursday.
Hiligh, 19, and Pilarcek, 20, apparently posted a video on June 13 where they beat a four-year-old male miniature poodle named Kobe using a leather belt. The next day, the SPCA Serving Erie County seized the dog and transferred it to a veterinary clinic, where it was treated for bruises and abrasions.
