Lakers guard Austin Reaves has had a breakout campaign this season, and his talents were one of the main reasons why Los Angeles pulled out a 128–112 win over the Grizzlies in Game 1 of the first round in the 2023 NBA playoffs on Sunday.
Reaves showed out in the fourth quarter specifically, scoring 14 points then after tallying just nine points combined in the three quarters prior. He finished the game with 23 points, four assists and three rebounds.
His late heroics prompted Reaves to chant “I’m him!” to the Lakers bench.

Milwaukee may be screwed after this injury.
The Bucks are in danger of dropping Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Round 1 matchup against the Miami Heat after losing superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. The “Greek Freak” left Sunday’s game early: heading back to the locker room in the first quarter after suffering an apparent back injury.

In a heavyweight battle between two of the best golfers in the world, Matt Fitzpatrick outlasted Jordan Spieth to win the RBC Heritage.
Fitzpatrick and Spieth entered the final round as two of parts of the final group trio along with Patrick Cantlay.
Fitzpatrick entered Sunday’s round with a one-shot lead over Cantlay and a two-shot lead over Spieth. And while it seemed for a while that Spieth and Cantlay would be the ones dueling, Fitzpatrick emerged late to force a playoff.

Heat guard Tyler Herro broke his right hand during Game 1 of Miami’s first-round playoff series against the Bucks, the team announced on Sunday evening.
Herro appeared to suffer the injury diving for a loose ball with just under a minute left in the first half and the Heat leading Milwaukee 64–52. He exited the game shortly thereafter, finding time to put up a three-point shot with the injured hand.
The injury came shortly after Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo exited the contest and was ruled out with a lower back contusion.
Herro, 23, is in his fourth year with Miami.

Grizzlies star Ja Morant sustained a hand injury in the fourth quarter of his team’s 128–112 Game 1 loss to the Lakers. 
Now, his status for Game 2 could be up in the air.
Speaking to reporters after Memphis’ loss on Monday, Morant indicated that his availability for Game 2 is “in jeopardy,” according to ESPN’s Tim McMahon. Morant revealed that he’s dealing with considerable pain, to the extent that he’s not even able to “undo a balled-up pair of socks.”
“Feels like it’s one thing after another,” Morant said.

The Atlanta Hawks will be down a staffer when they convene for practice in Boston on Monday. Zac Walsh has other plans. Walsh, the Hawks longtime equipment manager, will be down the street, among the 30,000 runners participating in the Boston Marathon.
For Walsh, a veteran marathoner, running Boston is the culmination of a three-year journey. In 2020, Walsh was registered to run. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the U.S., the race was canceled. Determined to still run, Walsh instead ran two 13-mile loops in Brookhaven, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta.

Giannis Antetokounmpo will not return to the Bucks’ matchup against the Heat on Sunday after sustaining a lower back contusion near the end of the first quarter, the team announced.
Antetokounmpo exited Game 1 of the first-round series after frighteningly landing on on his back following a collision with Kevin Love on a drive to the rim. After going to the locker room, the superstar forward returned with a wrap around his lower back and eventually checked back into the game with 9:56 to play in the second quarter, only to leave the game for good at the 8:33 mark.

Giannis Antetokounmpo left Game 1 of the Milwaukee Bucks’ first round series with the Miami Heat in the first quarter after falling on his back. Antetokounmpo was attacking the rim on the play when Miami’s Kevin Love slid over and tried to take a charge on him. Antetokounmpo went back to the locker room, got his back wrapped, then re-entered the game in the second quarter for about a minute before being pulled.
