Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks had their season come to an abrupt end Wednesday night in a Game 5 loss to the Heat. It moved Miami into the second round of the NBA playoffs and left Milwaukee wondering what could have been after it entered the postseason as the favorite to win the title.
Antetokounmpo, who led the Bucks to the championship in 2021, missed two games of this series with a back injury. His return wasn’t enough, though, mostly because Jimmy Butler was back doing Jimmy Butler things in the playoffs yet again.
There have been relatively few surprises in how MLB’s new rules have invigorated the running game: The bigger bases and limitations on pickoff moves were designed to boost stolen bases, and so far, they’ve done just that. MLB averaged 0.48 stolen bases per team game from 2019 to ‘22. That number is now all the way up to 0.69, a near 44% increase. Teams are attempting more stolen bases than they have in years, and they’re more successful than ever, too.

KANSAS CITY — The hardest assignment Bryce Young says he got when he met with teams in the leadup to this draft came when one asked him to build a Frankenstein quarterback using parts from the greatest players at the position.
“I can’t give you the answer because it was really long-winded, but it was like build a Frankenstein of quarterbacks that you feel like is the best of everything,” Young said Wednesday. “That was something that was kind of different that I hadn’t heard before. It was unique and it was interesting.

We’re just days away now from the 2023 NFL Draft, and there are still plenty of unknowns. And while teams like the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals have left plenty of people scratching their heads at what will happen at the top of the draft, it is the Detroit Lions who may hold the key to everything.
