The New York Knickerbockers aren’t getting off on this stop.
Avoiding a first-round exit and advancing to the second round of the NBA Playoffs, the Knicks appear to be officially back after a dominating series win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Knicks advanced to the second for the first time in a decade and the second time since 2000.

Tensions flared during Game 5 between the Bucks and Heat on Wednesday as Miami looks to close out a stunning upset in the series.
Veteran big man Udonis Haslem, apparently took exception to something Milwaukee’s Bobby Portis did, and midway through the second quarter, the 19-year veteran got off the bench and approached the Bucks big.
The two got right in each other’s faces and appeared to exchange some unpleasantries before they were separated by referees and coaches. Teammates from both teams approached the beefing duo before they were eventually separated.
The Knicks are cruising into the second round of the NBA playoffs after making quick work of the Cavaliers in their opening-round series. ESPN analyst and New York super-fan Stephen A. Smith was rightfully fired up after the Knicks’s 4–1 series victory, and didn’t hesitate to make a stunning prediction ahead of Round 2.
With a huge smile on his face, laughing like an evil villain who just hatched the most conniving ploy, Smith boldly declared that New York would be headed to the 2023 NBA Finals.
“Woo! One down, two more to go. I’m thinking Finals baby, I’m thinking Finals.

Denver authorities finally caught the Mile High madman that attacked Colorado Rockies’ mascot, Dinger.
A drunk fan in attendance for the Rockies’ home game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Apr. 10 tackled the Rockies mascot atop the dugout for no apparent reason. The perp was escorted out of Coors Field. He eventually turned himself in as calls for his arrest grew after attacking the innocent Dinger.
After all, who tackles a mascot? Total party foul.

Knicks forward Julius Randle limped off the court in the second quarter and was ruled doubtful to return.
Former ESPN baseball reporter Marly Rivera issued a statement addressing her dismissal from the company Wednesday for using vulgar language toward another journalist during a recent incident at Yankee Stadium.
Shortly after the New York Post reported her firing, Rivera told the Post she accepts responsibility for her actions toward Ivón Gaete prior to the Angels–Yankees game in New York on April 18 before noting there were “extenuating circumstances” regarding the confrontation.
Aaron Rodgers has only been with the Jets for a day, but the 39-year-old quarterback already has his sights set on a championship.
During his introductory news conference, Rodgers joked about New York’s trophy case, indicating that the Lombardi Trophy from the team’s Super Bowl III victory was getting “a little lonely,” via ESPN.
It’s been 54 years since the Jets won the Super Bowl, back when Joe Namath led them to a historic upset victory over the Baltimore Colts, but Rodgers seems intent on changing that.
The Braves’ home run celebration is expected to change after MLB banned the use of the oversized baseball cap the team had been using in the dugout to celebrate dingers.
At the beginning of the season, a fan tossed the big hat with the Braves logo on it from More Than Sports in Atlanta’s dugout, and the team decided to start a new tradition. But fans noticed the team hadn’t been wearing the big hat in the past few games.
Wolves guard Anthony Edwards allegedly swung a folding chair and injured two female employees following the team’s series-ending loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday night, Denver police said.
If there’s one program in the country that’s become the poster child for the transfer portal era, it’s undeniably Colorado.
Immediately upon arriving in Boulder, new coach Deion Sanders told his team point-blank that roster changes were coming, encouraging holdovers from a team that went 1–11 in 2022 to explore options elsewhere.
“I’m bringing my luggage with my luggage with me and it’s Louis,” Sanders told the team. “I want y’all to get ready and go ahead and jump in that portal. The more you jump in, the more room you make.
