And it makes sense. He was a goofy dude, with a funky-looking physique (more on that later), and he took a ton of shots (more on that, a well). And sometimes, those shots were highly unwarranted. Heck, never once in his 12-year career was his shooting efficiency (measured by true shooting) at or above league average.

United State Women’s National Team forward Alex Morgan posted a lengthy message to Instagram on Thursday following her team’s dramatic World Cup loss in the Round of 16 on Sunday.

Colts coach Shane Steichen announced Thursday that first-round draft pick Anthony Richardson will get the start in the team’s first preseason game on Saturday over Gardner Minshew. 
“My first NFL experience, just trying to get a victory and showcase my talents,” Richardson told reporters Thursday.
There’s been plenty of hype around Richardson ever since his days at Florida, most notably for his absurd athleticism. He stands at 6’4” and weighs 244 pounds and his frame played a big role in his 654 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground for the Gators in 2022.

Wins are tough to come by for the Mets these days, and they can thank rookie catcher Francisco Álvarez for Wednesday night’s victory over the Cubs. 
New York entered the ninth inning clinging to a 4–2 lead over Chicago. Adam Ottovino took the mound to attempt to close things out and allowed a leadoff home run to Seiya Suzuki. After allowing a single and a walk, the Cubs had two runners on with only one out and Ottovino was pulled in favor of Phil Bickford. 
A Nick Madrigal bunt advanced the runners to second and third, then Bickford struck out Christopher Morel for the second out.

1. The mind-boggling saga involving the Orioles and their play-by-play man, Kevin Brown, is far from over as Brown is expected to return to the booth Friday for a game in Seattle, according to The Athletic.
We all know his suspension over pointing out Baltimore’s record against Tampa Bay over the past two years makes zero sense and reeked of Orioles chairman and CEO John Angelos being insecure, petty and paranoid.
What I keep thinking about regarding Brown’s return is the awful situation the Orioles have put him in going forward.

Mark McGwire wants baseball fans to understand that there was a lot of hard work behind taking all the steroids and human growth hormone during his playing days.
“I can personally tell you, from me, knowing me… I didn’t need to do it and I apologize for it. But there was a lot of f***ing hard work that went behind all the shi* that people wanna give me to do what I did,” McGwire, who hit 583 homers, told A.J. Pierzynski on his “Foul Territory” show.

UFC president Dana White is not happy with a coaches challenge that appeared on the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter that involved Conor McGregor.
While the show is designed to find the next UFC star, some of the sport’s biggest names serve as coaches and do challenges as well.
This season, two coaches are McGregor and Michael Chandler, and it was a challenge the two of them took part in that left White fuming.
McGregor and Chandler each sat in an ice bath while they answered UFC trivia questions.

Noah Gragson was placed under indefinite suspension by NASCAR on Saturday. His future in the sport is unclear at this time.
Legacy Motor Club announced on Thursday morning that Gragson asked to be released from his contract. The team appeared to grant him his release, but did not formally state that he has been let go.

Legacy is not releasing Gragson on its own accord. Gragson requested that the team cut him loose.
