Clayton Kershaw’s return from his latest frustrating injury may have to wait until, at least, early August based on comments made by the Dodgers ace and manager Dave Roberts on Friday.
Kershaw, 35, has been resting and receiving treatment in recent weeks due to “cranky” left shoulder inflammation that forced him out of a June 27 win over the Rockies. The left-handed ace received a cortisone shot for the injury the following day and eventually landed on the 15-day injured list on July 3, retroactive to June 30.

Joe Mixon and the Bengals are in the process of finalizing a contract restructure that will keep the veteran running back in Cincinnati for the 2023 season on a more team-friendly deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. 
Mixon, who was set to earn $10.1 million and carry a salary cap hit of $12.791 this upcoming season, will agree to take a pay cut to remain with the 2023 AFC runners-up. Initial reports did not indicate the new terms of the 26-year-old’s deal, but made clear that the restructure will set the ballcarrier up to return as the Bengals’ top running back.

Details are starting to come out about the incident that led Arizona Coyotes to terminate forward Alex Galchenyuk’s contract after just 12 days.
According to Arizona Sports, the Scottsdale Police Department’s report lays out what happened during the incident on July 9.
It started when a BMW with two male occupants hit a sign and a curb and was spotted in a parking lot where they were seen laying next to the vehicle.
They then continued driving but were eventually pulled over. That’s when an officer noticed that the two men were intoxicated.
