Aaron Jones is one of the best running backs in the league, but his athletic attributes don’t stop on the football field. On Friday, the Packers star came in first place at the American Cornhole League preliminary tournament at Summerfest, meaning he earned a spot in the Superhole IV championship in South Carolina.
Jones and his partner, professional cornholer Yetty Irwan, won two matches Friday night, first defeating Spice Adams and pro David Morse and then taking down Nikki Garcia and pro Eric Zocklein.

Rose Zhang struggled at times with her putter on Saturday. She sits eight off the leader at the U.S. Women’s Open heading into the final day of play.
Zhang came out hot, sinking a couple of birdies in her first six holes and had climbed within a few shots of the lead. Then, her putting became a problem.
She missed a 5-foot birdie putt on the par-3 7th after hitting a fantastic tee shot.
The last time Dillon Brooks played in a game for the Grizzlies was during a 40-point blowout loss in Game 6 of the first round of the playoffs against the Lakers. It was a game that capped a nightmarish series for the former second-round pick who blossomed into a key contributor for the Western Conference’s No. 2 seed.
Now, Brooks is headed to the Rockets in a sign-and-trade with Houston that netted Brooks a four-year, $86 million contract worth up to $90 million, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Matt Rhule did not have a successful NFL tenure. He signed a seven-year contract with the Carolina Panthers but didn’t survive four before the team fired him. Rhule won just 11 of the 38 games that he coached. Despite the poor record, Nebraska hired him to return to the college game.
Rhule had a lot more success in college prior to his NFL jump. He led Temple to back-to-back 10-win seasons in 2015 and 2016. Then, Baylor hired him to rebuild the program following the Art Briles scandal.
The Thunder continue to stockpile draft assets in an astonishing manner. In the team’s latest trade, Oklahoma City reportedly dealt Patty Mills to the Hawks in exchange for TyTy Washington Jr., Usman Garuba, Rudy Gay and a future-second round pick.
The move raises the Thunder’s draft arsenal to a total of 35 picks over the next seven years—and 15 of them are first-rounders. Just last week, the Thunder acquired Mills from the Rockets.

Skip Bayless’s Undisputed sports debate show hasn’t aired a new episode since Shannon Sharpe left as co-host last month. Fox Sports says the show will return to its FS1 channel on Aug. 28, while Bayless says he is “in the lab this summer” just like LeBron James.
However, it doesn’t appear as if the hiatus was planned too far in advance. Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reports Fox Sports is struggling to find a replacement for Sharpe, and the hiatus is merely to give the network more time to fill the role.
The New York Yankees play “God Bless America” during every home game throughout the season. Sometimes, they have a live singer. But mostly, they play Robert Merrill’s recorded version during the seventh-inning stretch. And, Aaron Judge lines up — with his hand over his heart — and sings every word. During every game.
According to NJ.com, the New York Yankees are the only MLB team to feature that song at all 81 games.

Nikki Hiltz’s 2023 campaign got even better Saturday night as the 28-year-old middle distance runner used an incredible kick to secure the women’s 1500-meter national title at the 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Oregon. In doing so, Hiltz became the first openly non-binary athlete to win an outdoor track and field championship for the United States.
Hiltz’s final 100 meters were epic. They were running in pack of five, which stayed together for much of the one-mile, four-lap race.
It seemed as though Hiltz was boxed-in for a moment as the group turned for home.
