Patrick Ewing’s Georgetown men’s basketball team was blown out by Villanova 80–48 on Wednesday in the first round of the Big East Tournament to end the Hoyas’ season. In the end, it also marked the end of Ewing’s tenure as Georgetown’s basketball coach.
Georgetown has decided to part ways with Ewing after six seasons, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Ewing, who is one of the best players in the history of the Georgetown basketball program, could not replicate the same success as the school’s coach.

The former NBA All-Star was booked on drive-by shooting charge on Wednesday evening.
Former NBA All-Star Shawn Kemp will not face immediate charges after he was booked on a drive-by shooting charge Wednesday evening stemming from an incident in Tacoma, Washington.
Adam Faber, a spokesperson for the Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office, said in a statement that Kemp would be released from jail pending further investigation, according to the Associated Press.
