Justin Herbert worked his way down from one side of the fence to the other end, signing as many autographs as he could for the fans who attended the Chargers’ training camp practice Friday in Costa Mesa, Calif.
A few team buses had left by the time Herbert was done signing autographs, but of course, the Chargers had at least one bus waiting for their star quarterback. Before entering the bus, Herbert was stopped by a young fan who asked if he would sign his guitar.
Herbert gladly obliged, and will likely continue signing several autographs for the remainder of training camp.

Just hours after Oregon and Washington officially joined UCLA and USC as future members of the Big Ten, the Pac-12 lost three additional members to the ever-expanding Big 12.
Arizona, Arizona State and Utah will all join the league along with conferencemate Colorado, ahead of the 2024 fall semester.
“We are thrilled to welcome Arizona, Arizona State and Utah to the Big 12,” said conference commissioner Brett Yormark in an official release.
Jon Gruden may be persona non grata around NFL offices, but he is apparently welcome at the Saints facility, where he was spotted during training camp this week. The former Raiders coach has worked with coach Dennis Allen’s staff throughout the offseason after the team signed his former Las Vegas quarterback, Derek Carr, to lead the offense.
After Gruden was spotted in Saints apparel at the team’s Friday practice, Allen was asked about his place with the franchise.
As conference realignment continues to engulf college sports, one conference with no ties to the ongoing craze decided to have a little fun on Friday in light of recent news.
In the wake of Friday’s announcement that Oregon and Washington will join the Big Ten, the Ivy League decided to share a curiously-timed post on Twitter acknowledging its eight longtime members: Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale.
Conference realignment news seems to be coming thick and fast. So fast, that some Board of Trustee members have to vote from wherever they can whenever they can as was the case for one Oregon board member.
Because this latest spate of conference moves has happened quickly with votes among various boards being called on short notice.
These are of course important votes, so what is one to do if they happen to have, oh, say a tee time?
You take your phone with you on the course and you vote to join the Big Ten before you chip onto the green, that’s what you do.

Justin Thomas needed a low score on Friday at the Wyndham Championship to keep his FedEx Cup playoffs goal alive, and he delivered.
The Wyndham Championship is Justin Thomas’ last opportunity to get into the FedEx Cup playoffs. In order to make it to next week in Memphis, he needs to climb into the top 70 in the playoff standings.
Following an even par 70 on Thursday, Thomas’ clutch gene kicked in with a fantastic round when it mattered most.
Thomas carded a 5-under 65, earning him a spot in the weekend and tied for 21st.
During the Bills’ “Blue and Red” practice at Highmark Stadium on Friday, the AFC East power had star quarterback Josh Allen make the boldest statement of the training camp.
Allen came out of the tunnel sporting a “jersey-helmet color swap.” The two-time Pro Bowl talent ran onto the field wearing an all blue helmet while sporting a red jersey.
As multiple NFL teams like the Jets, Eagles and Titans—among others—have announced a return to their throwback uniforms and helmets, Buffalo could be hinting at a potential ‘mix-n-match’ combination of jersey and helmet colors.
It did not take long for Toronto rookie Davis Schneider to deliver for the Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays called up Davis Schneider on Friday and immediately inserted the rookie into the lineup, batting him seventh against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
It did not take long at all for the move to pay off.
Schneider came to the plate for his first MLB at-bat in the top of the second, and you could not script a better result for his first major league action:
First career game. First career at-bat. First career hit.First career homer.
