Manchester United made a big splash by announcing Chelsea star Mason Mount as its first signing of the summer.
After a lengthy negotiating process that saw United reportedly drop out of the race last week, the Red Devils agreed to a £55 million ($69.4 million) move for the 24-year-old, who joins in a five-year deal with an option for another year.
The move brings an end to Mount’s promising, yet unfulfilled career at Chelsea. After joining the club at 6 years old, Mount rose through the ranks to become an integral member of the senior team.
