Welcome to 32 teams in 32 days. To get us through the offseason, we’ll be taking a closer look at every team in the league, in order of projected 2023 win totals. Up next: the Jets.
The Jets became instant Super Bowl contenders the second Aaron Rodgers announced his desire to leave the Packers and play in New York with coach Robert Saleh’s talented young roster.
Obviously, there was a lengthy trade negotiation period between Rodgers’s former team and new team, with lots of finger-pointing drama before and after the trade became official.
Sometimes words tell only part of the story. In this case, the essence of a story resides on an exterior rear brick wall of a bar at 301 South Broadway in Green Bay.
An hour after reports emerged that the Packers and Jets had agreed to an Aaron Rodgers trade, Beau Thomas went to Old School Bar and walked around back, armed with black paint and a roller. Within a few minutes, Thomas had erased his own monument to Rodgers entitled King of the North, one of his two-dozen downtown murals and the only one of a Packers player.

After a disappointing Austrian Grand Prix, Alfa Romeo has their sights much higher for Silverstone
Like many Formula 1 teams, Alfa Romeo endured a difficult trip to the Styrian Alps last week. Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu left Red Bull Ring behind without a point to show for their efforts, as both drivers finishing outside the scoring in Saturday’s F1 Sprint race, the Sunday Grand Prix.
The Los Angeles Angels had a terrible Fourth of July, which began with them putting Mike Trout on the injured list with a broken hand and ended with them watching Shohei Ohtani walking off the field with the team’s trainer after being forced to be pulled from his start with a blister on his pitching hand.
Ohtani gave up back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and then on his next pitch it was clear he couldn’t go on any more, as it came nowhere near his target and went bouncing off the screen behind home plate.

What do you expect from Aaron Rodgers in his first season as a Jet? Big things — presuming he stays healthy. He dealt with a broken thumb for most of last season.
Draymond Green talks, a lot, and while every other thing that comes out of his mouth seems to be over-the-top nonsense, it’s hard to completely write off his recent opinion about Victor Wembanyama.
Wembanyama, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, is without question the most-hyped basketball prospect since LeBron James entered the league in 2003. While Green realizes how special the French international can be, the idea that he’s going to walk into the league and immediately be an All-Star caliber player is a bit much, according to the Golden State forward.
The LA Galaxy’s July 4th showdown against crosstown rival LAFC drew a crowd of 82,110 on Tuesday night, breaking the all-time MLS single-game attendance record. Fans who attended the game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., witnessed the Galaxy win the game, 2–1.
The West Coast rivalry known as El Tráfico broke the previous attendance mark of 74,479 set on March 5, 2022, in Charlotte FC’s first-ever home game, also against the Galaxy, at Bank of America Stadium.
The Galaxy usually play their home games at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
Nearly a month after he was sent down to the minor leagues amid an abysmal start to the season, Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah is finally on his way back to The Show.
Manoah will rejoin the big-league roster for Friday’s game against the Tigers, manager John Schneider told reporters on Tuesday. His promotion comes after an up-and-down minor league assignment that included an 11-run outing, though he later struck out 10 batters across five innings at Double A.
A wrong turn just prior to the finish line wound up costing a runner thousands of dollars on July 4th in Atlanta.
Senbere Teferi, the defending Peachtree Road Race champion, was leading the 10-kilometer race mere meters from the finish line but was led astray after following a police motorcycle that took a right turn off the course.
As a result, she finished third instead of winning the annual race. She won $3,000 instead of the winner’s prize of $10,000.
