There’s a conclusion we can all draw simply from the calendar—if a Lamar Jackson offer sheet was out there to be signed predraft, it’d have been negotiated and signed by now. Teams have too much tied up into their quarterback plans, and there’s too much invested in the position across the league, for anyone to arbitrarily wait until April.
But after the draft? Things could change.

With the 2023 NFL draft just a few weeks away, it’s time to think about what kind of fantasy impact the incoming players may have. Rookies have become a much bigger part of the fantasy football landscape in recent seasons. In years past, it was the first-year running backs who typically made the most significant statistical impacts among rookies. But nowadays, we’re seeing an increased number of quarterbacks come right in and finish with solid fantasy totals.

Anthony Davis is back.
Where ya been?
Where has the 40-points-against-the-Rockets-on-Sunday Davis been? Or the guy who collected 38 points and 17 rebounds in a must-ish win against the Timberwolves two nights earlier? Or the player who scored another 38 points against the Bulls before that? Over the last three games Davis has been shooting 65% from the floor.
Where has that guy been?
This season has been Davis’s best as a Laker. His scoring (26.3), rebounding (12.4) and shooting percentage (56.7%) are at four-year highs.

As we discussed his feelings about playing on Thursday nights, recently retired Patriots safety Devin McCourty stopped me as I recounted his circumstances last year. Almost by accident, I’d quickly brushed over that New England actually did play two Thursday Night Football games in 2022, and said that, with those games coming in consecutive weeks (Thanksgiving and Dec. 1), the damage was mitigated, since there was only one short week.

Jay Williams stepped up to the plate for the worldwide leader and put on a world-class display of how to disregard reality and simply focus on the skin color of Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.
During the final minute or so of LSU’s national championship win over Iowa on Sunday, Reese spent her time taunting Clark.

Several big-name athletes defended Reese, including LeBron James, amid the criticism. The four-time NBA champion quote-tweeted a tweet that read, “Angel Reese to all the haters after winning the national championship.

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes submitted their bid for greatest main event in the history of WrestleMania, and they delivered a convincing argument.
Reigns defeated Rhodes to close out night two of WrestleMania 39, a match that was carried by an extraordinarily rare level of intensity. It featured a ref bump and outside interference, which have been staples of Reigns’ title defenses, but this was altogether different. Rhodes was valiant in defeat, and Reigns entered a new echelon of preeminence.
Here are the results:
— Brock Lesnar defeated Omos.

Todd Boehly and the Clearlake consortium arrived at Chelsea promising a new era of stability. This, Boehly promised, would be a contrast with the Roman Abramovich era of hirings and firings. He has been in charge a year, during which time Chelsea has spent $700m in transfer fees and has, for the first time in its history, sacked two managers in a season.
Graham Potter was appointed manager when Thomas Tuchel was surprisingly dismissed in September, a week after the transfer window closed.

Dan Hurley is the son of one of the greatest high school coaches in basketball history. He’s the little brother of one of the great point guards in college hoops history. He’s 40 minutes away from his own claim to greatness, a development that threatens to ruin his schtick.
The Connecticut coach has always exuded an oddball persona, wrapping it in Jersey wiseacre humor. Bob Hurley Sr.’s son and Bob Hurley Jr.’s little brother has accomplished a lot, but he runs with a tough crowd—this is one of the most accomplished families in the history of the sport, the Harbaughs of hoops.
