The Celtics reportedly made a significant addition to coach Joe Mazzulla’s staff on Sunday, less than one week after the team’s Game 7 loss in the Eastern Conference finals.
Boston is set to add veteran assistant coach Sam Cassell alongside Mazzulla ahead of his second season, according The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Cassell, 53, has spent the last three seasons as an assistant with the 76ers under recently-fired coach Doc Rivers.

The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full-display Sunday in Dublin, Ohio. That’s the site of the Memorial Tournament hosted by Muirfield Village Golf Club. And Viktor Hovland secured the biggest victory of his young PGA Tour career, but in doing so, kept Denny McCarthy from his first win.

Viktor Hovland put together a stellar final round at The Memorial, beating Denny McCarthy in a playoff in dramatic fashion.
Viktor Hovland had been knocking on the door lately for his fourth PGA Tour victory. On Sunday, it finally came to fruition as Hovland carded a 2-under 70 final round. That was good enough to land him in a playoff with Denny McCarthy.
Following McCarthy lipping out a lengthy par putt on the first playoff hole, Hovland sank a five-footer to take home the victory.

After falling short the last two weeks, Viktor Hovland has conquered Muirfield Village to win The Memorial Tournament. He beat Denny McCarthy in a one-hole playoff to secure the victory, but arguably the biggest moment of the day came at the 71st hole.
Hovland was the only player in the final round to birdie the par-4 17th, and it got him to within one shot of the lead at 7-under.
