Some think every at-bat should start off like this. Others absolutely disagree.
The MLB pitch clock is here and it is perfect. Well, not everybody might think it’s perfect but this new rule is speeding up spring training games and should do the same to the real games when the regular season starts in a few weeks.
If you need proof that it’s awesome then check out this video of a Dodgers pitcher getting through a whole half inning in the same time it took a former Dodgers pitcher to throw one pitch in a game a few years ago.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Buffalo Bills brain drain continues as the team announced Tuesday morning defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier will take the 2023 season off and return in 2024.
This is part of a pattern for the Bills who last year lost offensive coordinator Brian Daboll when he became the Giants head coach and assistant GM Joe Schoen when he became the Giants GM. There were other coaches who also left in that string of departures to the Giants as well.
The Frazier move is stunning because of the timing. It comes well after the Bills season ended Jan.
Tiffany Newell, a transgender female runner, placed first at the 2023 Canadian Masters Indoor Championships over the weekend after Newell’s previous record in the women’s 5,000-meter race was recently ratified.
Newell, 50, beat out Catherine Weber, the sole opponent competing in the Women’s 1500-meter indoor race for their respective age group, on Saturday at the 12th Canadian Masters Indoor Championships in Toronto.

Buffalo will be in search of a new top assistant in the coming days.
The Bills will be in need of a new defensive coordinator next fall after announcing that Leslie Frazier plans to take the 2023 season off from coaching.
In a release Tuesday morning, Buffalo revealed that Frazier will step back from his top assistant role next season. However, the well-regarded defensive coordinator plans to return to the sidelines in 2024 after a year away.
The franchise did not reveal Frazier’s reason for taking the year off or who his replacement will be in the release.
He’s set for at least three team meetings in Indianapolis during the NFL scouting combine.
While most of the focus at the NFL scouting combine is on the draft hopefuls, at least three teams will have their eyes on a talented veteran quarterback who recently hit free agency.
On Monday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr would travel to Indianapolis to meet with teams during the combine, which runs from Tuesday through March 6.

Here’s what you need to look for at the combine this week.
We’re only a few weeks removed from the Super Bowl, but football is heating right back up. The NFL Scouting Combine begins in Indianapolis on February 28th, and it’s the first chance a lot of NFL-only fans will have to set their sights on the incoming 2023 draft class.
There’s a lot of talk about what ends up being the most important element of the combine itself. Some swear that hitting the measurables on weigh-ins is the only part that matters.
“I was born to do this. I was born to be Microman.”
Seven years ago, with the morning air unusually thick, Último Guerrero ran another of his training sessions for aspiring wrestlers. As sweat dripped from the faces of the aspiring luchadores, it was impossible to determine who would become a star. But it was undeniable who refused to quit.
Drill after drill, session after session, one determined young man refused to accept any other fate than his destiny. For Microman, only one option existed: he was going to be a pro wrestler.
Timme time is up at Gonzaga. Well, almost.
Drew Timme, Gonzaga’s senior forward, announced Tuesday that he’ll forego his final year of eligibility after the season.
Timme’s currently in his fourth year with the Bulldogs and because of the Covid year, he’d be eligible for an additional season if he wanted to stay in Spokane.
But that won’t be the case.
“I’ve done my four years,” Timme told The Athletic’s Seth Davis. “I’m a senior, and I’m moving on.
Baseball is entering a new era, and we have answers to all of your questions.
You can tell baseball looks very different this year just from the first weekend of spring training games. As in 1920 (Live Ball Era), ’61 (Expansion Era), ’73 (DH Era) and ’95 (Wild-Card Era), 2023 brings such monumental, permanent change that the start of a new era is visible.
It starts now. Are you ready?
You’ve got questions about the new rules. I’ve got answers.
Expect pitch clock violations to become few and far between as the season goes on.
Managers such as Tampa Bay’s Kevin Cash will be relying upon coaches with recent minor league experience to advise them about MLB’s new rules.
Someone’s first spring in big league camp is supposed to be about learning. But this year offers an unusual twist: Maybe it can also be about teaching.
Take Rays third base coach Brady Williams. This is his first year in the gig—his first season on a big league staff in any capacity.
