There was some speculation going into the offseason that Winston’s time with the Saints was over, and a report that generated a lot of attention predicted that was going to be the case.
However, Winston always maintained he was preparing as he was still a member of the franchise, and to his credit, he turned out to be correct.
The Florida State Heisman winner has agreed to a new one-year deal worth up to $8 million to backup Derek Carr.

The Colorado spring game will be broadcast for the country to see.
Ever since Deion Sanders took over the program, the Buffaloes have been in the spotlight. For the first time in a long time, it feels like Colorado is relevant.
Well, that status has officially been cemented thanks to the team’s spring game. The Buffaloes April 22 spring game will be broadcast on ESPN and also sold 35,000 tickets, according to Brian Howell.
The game will be the only spring game to get a broadcast on ESPN.

ESPN, once again, managed to make a very bizarre broadcast decision in an XFL locker room.
Following a Sunday game between the St. Louis BattleHawks and Arlington Renegades, the ESPN2 broadcast followed St. Louis QB A.J. McCarron into the locker room.
That’s when things went off the rails. A player was shown in the background clearly not wearing pants, and if it hadn’t been for the incredibly lucky placement of a towel, it would have been a disaster on live TV.

The veteran interior defensive lineman spent the last two seasons with the Vikings.
The Browns reportedly made their first splash signing of the offseason on Monday by agreeing to terms on a deal with coveted free agent defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson.
Cleveland is expected to sign Tomlinson, who spent the last two seasons with the Vikings, to a four-year contract worth $57 million with $27.5 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The 26-year-old defensive lineman will not be able to officially sign the deal until the new league year begins Wednesday at 4 p.m.
