As one of the top reporters in all of sports, Adam Schefter is certainly far from an unreliable source when it comes to breaking news. And, on Friday, the longtime ESPN NFL insider decided to have a little fun with that fact courtesy of an “update” on the future of Lamar Jackson.
During his latest appearance on the Barstool Sports podcast Pardon My Take, Schefter halted a conversation with hosts Dan “Big Cat” Katz and PFT Commenter to check one of his two phones after it buzzed.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is seeking a big pay ahead of the 2023 season after a superb 2022 campaign that saw him put up career-highs in both passing and rushing yards.
In an NFL landscape where the monetary value for a quarterback continues to increase, Jones is reportedly seeking a new contract for more than $45 million, according to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News.

Mets pitcher Max Scherzer was both a victim and perpetrator of pitch clock issues on Friday.
Scherzer has historically been one of the most routine oriented pitchers in MLB. For that reason and his generally prickly demeanor on the mound, many expected him to view the pitch clock with disdain.
And for part of his Friday start, it certainly seemed like those fears would be justified.
In the top of the 3rd inning, Scherzer faced Nationals catcher Riley Adams with first and third and no one out.
