Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza was the recipient of some serious hardware at last night’s Heisman Trophy ceremony, capturing the award, becoming the first Hoosier in school history to be crowned the best player in college football.
We talked a lot yesterday about some of the more infamous Heisman snubs in the 90-year history of the award, and while I don’t think Mendoza should have been the runaway favorite, I don’t think anyone can say they were snubbed last night (though Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia had some choice words for the voters).

Philadelphia has its swag back, and the Eagles are 9-5 and feeling confident again after a dominant 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. Dallas Goedert had two short receiving touchdowns and would have had a third had he not dropped a catch in the end zone early in the first half. Philadelphia’s defense was stingy, sacking Raiders quarterback Kenny Pickett one time and limiting rookie running back Ashton Jeanty to just 30 yards on eight carries.
