Sometimes, the best thing for a college football team can also become a massive hassle, especially when you thought hosting a playoff game was a longshot. For UC Davis, having to scramble for lodging accommodations was probably not on the itinerary this week. 
Thanks to Illinois State upsetting No. 1 North Dakota State last weekend in the FCS, the Redbirds will be playing UC Davis this week, making the trip to California for the quarterfinal game.

Alejandro Grimaldo scored an 88th-minute equaliser as Bayer Leverkusen snatched a 2-2 draw at home to Newcastle in the Champions League on Wednesday. 
That goal denied Newcastle a place in the top eight positions which qualify directly for the last 16.
With two matches left, Newcastle are two points behind the top eight and a point ahead of Leverkusen, with both currently heading for the play-offs.

Michigan fired head coach Sherrone Moore on Wednesday afternoon. The news was first reported by the ESPN trio of Adam Schefter, Pete Thamel, and Dan Wetzel.
Michigan AD Warde Emmanuel released a statement and said Moore was “terminated, with cause.”
As is usually the case with head coach firings, the next few days will swirl with rumors of Michigan players entering the portal. Some of it will be nothing more than noise, but there will likely be a few talented Wolvernines exploring their options elsewhere.
