There’s something about an athlete announcing their retirement that offers a new appreciation for their accomplishments. It’s a moment to reflect on their career, and what they mean in the grand scheme of their chosen sport’s history.
For a name like John Cena, who spent more than 20 years in the WWE machine, his place in history hasn’t ever been called into question. He’s a guy who was on the chopping block early in his WWE tenure, redefined himself multiple times, and ultimately paved a path for future WWE lifers to follow.
The NFL Draft is, generally, a slow process. With 10 minutes in between picks in the first round, the opening night of the event can last until nearly midnight despite starting almost five hours earlier.
In an attempt to allow football fans to get more sleep, the NFL reportedly reduced time between first-round picks from 10 to 8 minutes. That new mandate will go into effect during the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are the reigning NBA champions, and they look even better at the start of this season. OKC is coming off a year where it won 68 regular season games and then survived two Game 7s to win the first ring in Thunder history. While a young OKC team looked a little shaky in the 2025 playoffs, there was no doubt it was always the favorites entering this season as they try to become the first team to go back-to-back since Kevin Durant’s Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018.
The Carolina Panthers may be hopeful about the status of one of their very top defenders here in Week 15.
Cornerback Jaycee Horn, who missed the team’s Week 13 win over the Los Angeles Rams due to a concussion, was listed a limited participant in Wednesday’s walkthrough. He and inside linebacker Claudin Cherelus were sidelined from the victory after sustaining head injuries in the Week 12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Head coach Dave Canales offered up an update on both following the session.
“They are still in the protocol,” Canales stated.
After being selected with the 19th overall selection in the 2016 NWSL Draft, Katie Lind became one of the most respected defenders in the league.
After 193 appearances across all competitions (176 starts), the NWSL legend announced her retirement today from professional soccer.
