The UCLA Bruins‘ season has been as disappointing as it could possibly be. They fired their head coach early in the season, not too long after his tenure began. A transfer quarterback who had a ton of potential chose to come to UCLA, and it ended up being a career-altering move for him, but not in a good way. The Bruins are 0-4 to start the season, and there is not a game on this schedule where analysts are optimistic they will win.

Oct. 3โ€”JAMESTOWN โ€” Kathleen (Sullivan) Smedstad left Jamestown 51 years ago.
Her athletic accomplishments are still well-remembered.
Smedstad is one of the three former Jamestown High School athletes who will be inducted into the Jamestown High School Hall of Fame on Friday. Smedstad will be inducted alongside Brian Zehren (Class of 1995) and Jessica (Neva) Gardner (Class of 1999).
“I was pleasantly surprised to hear that I had been nominated,” Smedstad said.

The Badgers are sitting at 2-2 coming off blowout losses to Alabama and Maryland. Now, Luke Fickell will have to travel to Ann Arbor to play a very good Wolverines team as his seat is scorching hot.
Just remember folks, no matter how bad things are, they can always get worse and often do. That’s a reality Wisconsin fans appear to be accepting with open arms.

Nothing like preseason hockey, right folks?
It’s a great time to see some new faces, check out what your team has in terms of depth, and just shake off the rust from the summer months.
For the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, however, the preseason edition of their “Battle of Florida” was a chance for the two teams to continue their seething hatred for one another and beat the ever loving piss out of each other.
It started in the second period, when Panthers tough guy AJ Greer incited an all-out line brawl by taking a run at Lightning d-man Darren Raddysh.

In the 1970s, college football looked nothing like what we know today.
This is especially true when considering the money tied to the sport. Today, football programs are cash cows for universities, but only if the university committed to the sport long ago. And looking back just a handful of decades at Florida State University and the University of Miami, two programs that have long been in the upper echelon of the NCAA ranks, no amount of success (or even existence) was guaranteed.

The big question surrounding LeBron James these days is how much longer he will play in the NBA. He is entering the final year of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, and even he may not have an idea of how much longer he wants to remain in the league or with the team.
Some feel the 2025-26 season will be his final one. Others believe that he will look to play one and possibly even two more seasons, partly because his youngest son, Bryce, will be eligible for the NBA draft next year and he may want to play alongside the latter.
