Normally the first weekend in October is the epitome of perfect football weather. The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, the breezes cooler. That’s not the case this year. It was 87 degrees in Kalamazoo on Saturday. Heck, it was 82 in Houghton in the northern reaches of the UP on Saturday.
Instead of a Lions hoodie, sweatpants and my guilty pleasure of Skyline Chili in honor of the team playing in Cincinnati, it’s still shorts, an Alex Anzalone tee and the normal Lions mug full of coffee for a Sunday morning.

Italy legend insists Vlahovic must be Juventus’ starting
Italy and Juventus legend Marco Tardelli insists Dusan Vlahovic should be the Bianconeri’s starting striker even if his contract expires in June.
Former Italy midfielder Tardelli, a 1982 Italy World Cup winner, feels Vlahovic should be Juventus’ starting striker this season.
Vlahovic is the best Juventus goalscorer in 2025-26 with four goals, all scored as a substitute, in seven appearances.

Colorado coach Deion Sanders’ team is struggling on the field, and he’s continuing to struggle with his health.
Sanders revealed after Saturday’s loss to TCU that he was in significant pain.
“I think I’ve got more blood clots,” Sanders said. “It don’t make sense. I’m hurting like crazy.”
Sanders was visibly hurting on the sideline during the game and had taken off the shoe on his left foot, apparently to relieve pain. Sanders has previously had two toes amputated on his left foot because of blood clots.

The Seahawks boast a talented defense and a renewed offense, which has them riding high on their own momentum. Quarterback Sam Darnold has carried over momentum from 2024 to this season, while the defense has taken the next step necessary to become one of the more complete units in the NFL. The Bucs will need to be on their A game once again, just like they were in the second half against the Eagles, if they want to get to 4-1.

Yismaw Dillu set a new men’s record in winning the Cardiff Half Marathon 2025.
The 20-year-old Ethiopian crossed the tape in a time of 59 minutes 23 seconds, beating the mark set by Kenya’s Leonard Langat in 2019 by seven seconds.
Last year’s women’s winner Miriam Chebet defended her title, the Kenyan knocking five seconds off her 2024 time to finish in 1:06:36.
Ethiopia’s Alem Nigus was second in 1:07:32, with Ethiopian debutant Wudinesh Alemu third (1:08:07).
