The NBA’s investigation into the Los Angeles Clippers’ contract with Kawhi Leonard took an extremely weird turn on Tuesday when a new report outlined that Leonard’s camp asked for similar off-the-books payments in 2019 while negotiating with the Toronto Raptors.
Clippers and Leonard are coming under fire for allegedly arranging a $28M payment from now-defunct carbon offset company “Aspiration,” which seemingly required Leonard to do absolutely nothing.
The NFL television ratings juggernaut continues to dominate and even expand its lead in drawing audiences to the league’s games.
Except for one minor blip that could be argued to be a setback on a YouTube telecast, the NFL set records and reached historical highs in ratings across the board for its Week 1 games.

Cremonese director: Vardy ‘knows sacrifice’
Cremonese director Simone Giacchetta says Jamie Vardy’s value convinced the club to sign him as a free agent this summer: ‘He knows sacrifice.’
Leicester City legend Vardy was unveiled as a new Cremonese player today.
Vardy formally joined Cremonese on deadline day, signing a one-year contract with an option for a further campaign.
The club’s sporting director Giacchetta spoke during the event, which was held at the Auditorium Giovanni Arvedi in Cremona.

Hampshire men’s head coach Adrian Birrell will leave the club at the end of the season.
The 64-year-old South African joined the club in 2019 and won the T20 Blast with the Hawks in 2022.
“It’s really sad when you move on and I’ve had a fantastic seven years,” Birrell told BBC Radio Solent.
“I have had the best job in England, but like everything, things come to an end and I’m not the youngest coach around.
