If you’re a fan of offense, Monday night in Green Bay was ugly. If defense is your thing, it was a thing of beauty.

[UPDATE #2]: He’s back! Lane Johnson returned to the field with 5:35 left in Monday night’s game. The Packers were able to put the game within three points, and the Eagles opted to put their captain back out there on the next offensive drive.
[UPDATE]: Coming out of halftime, Lane Johnson walked back to the sideline and had his helmet on while sitting on the bench. Fred Johnson stayed in the game, but it was encouraging to see Lane around and seemingly available if needed.
And by big stage, I mean the 3,500 seat Sanford Pentagon, which was a 99.8% Cyclone crowd. Iowa State had two non-sensical wins against Fairleigh-Dickenson and Grambling State before their first contest with a P5 opponent, and a solid one at that. Mississippi State was a tournament team last year and returned their best player in Josh Hubbard. The rest looks like a work in progress.
Full disclosure, I watched this game on a very cool, very legal YouTube stream that had the video quality of a potato.
MIAMI (AP) — Andrew Wiggins made an alley-oop dunk at the buzzer in overtime, and the Miami Heat beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 140-138 in a wild back-and-forth game Monday night.
Norman Powell scored 33 points, Jaime Jaquez Jr. had 22 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists off the bench for the Heat. Wiggins scored 23 for Miami, which got a 14-point, 20-rebound game from Kel’el Ware.
Donovan Mitchell had 28 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists for Cleveland, including a 3-pointer to tie the game with 0.
Josh Jacobs scored his 11th touchdown of the season to give the Packers their first points of the night.
Green Bay now trails Philadelphia 10-7 with 5:49 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Jacobs scored on a 6-yard run two players after Jihaad Campbell was penalized 21 yards for defensive pass interference on a pass intended for Luke Musgrave.
The Packers went 75 yards in 11 plays for a much-needed score after falling behind by two scores.
Green Bay has only 214 yards, with Jordan Love going 17-of-26 for 124 yards.
Gonzaga beat Oklahoma by 15 on Saturday and looked like a team with a ridiculous ceiling still figuing out how all the pieces fit together. The important stuff was there: Graham Ike controlled the paint, Braden Huff ran secondary actions, and the defense absolutely bottled up Oklahoma from all points on the floor. Gonzaga’s depth and versatility simply overwhelmed the Sooners and systematically stripped them one-by-one of their contingency plans on both sides of the floor.
