NEW YORK (AP) — Xaviah Bascon ran for two touchdowns, Seamus Gilmartin caught two touchdown passes from Jaden Craig, and Harvard rolled past Columbia 31-14 on Friday.
Bascon opened the scoring with a 1-yard rush to cap a 10-play, 80-yard scoring drive for the Crimson (8-1, 5-0 Ivy League). He added his second with 11 seconds left in the first half.
Craig found Gilmartin twice for scores in the second quarter. The first came following an interception by Columbia’s Chase Goodwin that Jack Donahoe secured and returned to the Columbia 2-yard line.

Nick Aldis has had enough of Drew McIntyre, and after another out-of-line moment, the WWE star has been suspended.
During Friday’s episode of SmackDown, McIntyre once again made a chaotic moment occur in the ring. In the closing minutes of the show, McIntyre interrupted the main event between Aleister Black and WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Franz Wagner scored 27 points, Desmond Bane added 22 points and seven assists and the Orlando Magic beat the Boston Celtics 123-110 Friday night in their NBA Cup opener.
Jaylen Brown scored 32 points for the Celtics. Payton Pritchard added 27 points and Derrick White had 16 points and 10 assists.
The Celtics and Magic are grouped with Brooklyn, Detroit and Philadelphia in East Group B of the NBA’s in-season tournament. It was their first meeting since the Celtics eliminated the Magic in five games in a first-round playoff series in April.
The Boston Celtics had their second game of NBA Cup group play on Friday, going on the road to take on the Orlando Magic. With both teams part of Group B in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics came into the game with the only win in group play thus far, but ran into a very tough Magic team that would be led by their two young superstars while Boston’s supporting cast struggled to get going.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Nicolás Fernández scored twice in stoppage time and Alonso Martínez found the net early in the second half to lead New York City FC to a 3-1 victory over Charlotte FC on Friday night in the rubber match of the best-of-three first-round series for the MLS Cup.
NYCFC advances to play No. 1 overall seed Philadelphia on the Union’s field in the second round with the date and time to be determined.
